Wapun Meadow Although it's so romantic on the borderline tonight

Alrighty! Wee bit late on this’n but here we go, time to bring ‘em down! Next round ends on the 20th.

Ameline felt her heart harden as if it had been squeezed when Athella made the move to cut off the fleeing bison’s path. All it would take, the knew, was one strike- one kick, one toss of the animal’s horns, one stamp of a hoof to cut her daughter down. But all predators had tests to pass- and this was hers. 

Ameline let out a proud whoop as her daughter steered the beast back to are its companion. Cut off now from the retreating herds, the two bison pressed together, blinking and bellowing in fear as they were circled by wolves.

Now clear of interruption from the other bison, she summoned back her husband and the rest who had sent the rest of the bison scattering for the safety of the woods. Now came the time to kill- and two animals had been selected for slaughter. 

Ameline dove forward to split the beasts apart, though they were slow and reluctant to part. One dipped its head low as it spun and circled, missing her flank by mere inches. She passed between them, and reached for the more timid of the two with snapping jaws. Forcing her away from her herd mate, and toward her awaiting packmates.
