Revui was more agitated than usual when he woke up from a much needed nap and found his face still throbbing with pain. He was awakened at an odd hour by that pain, and remained awake until the dawnlight fell across the mountain. He got himself to his feet and paced, eventually descending through the alpine layer of the mountain until he came to the eastern foothills — the ones that tapered out to the lakeside of Lake Rodney should he continue, but he hit the invisible barrier that marked the end of the pack's claim and didn't go any further. During his race down the mountainside Revui didn't see many other wolves; he wondered if they were all asleep, or if someone was doing some early patrols as he intended.

He came upon a gully, a natural trench that cut its way through the woods, and it was full of snow. The boy wasn't in a playful mood but his face was hurting, and that prompted him to do something odd - he deviated from his intended plan of guarding the pack and dove face-first in to the snow. Now, Revui is a pretty beefy guy. He's long since hit his adult size and towers over most of his family. The snow was somehow deep enough to swallow him up after his graceless dive. When his nose popped up again, it was a solitary black mark surrounded by the cold white of the snow.

The boy's muzzle gaped open for a second and with a big chomp he gathered some of the snow and pine needles in to his mouth, like a life-sized Hungry Hungry Hippo. The cold wasn't the best feeling (in fact he got a pretty severe sense of brain freeze right after), but the snow set in to the hollow spot where his lost tooth once sat, and for a minute he didn't feel the pain.

Hey, whatever works buddy.
