Camilla seemed happy, and weirdly, Towhee seemed happy. In the end, all three of them ended up in one big pile on the ground, and Phox's eyes were closing as soon as his head hit the earth below. Whatever animosity was between Towhee and Camilla appeared to have vanished, at least for the time being. Phox couldn't even begin to unpack what had just happened, especially with Towhee, but to be honest: he didn't really care.

Maybe Towhee would let them move back into the thicket after all. When he woke, he would ask her. That was his last thought before a deep, satisfied sleep took hold of him.
