He thought his family had meant a lot to him -- or at least that they might think the same of him, but the way things had turned out, he knew some certainly hadn't cared, and others may or may not. He hadn't been as close to his sisters as they had been with each other, it was only with Solomon gone that he'd been close to Brillo. 

Mal nodded, Delight and Queenie. He expected no familiarity there -- certainly not with Delight at least. Delight, after all, had stayed well within Mal's realm of knowledge even when he was busily pretending his father didn't exist. The thought that his mother could have had another litter hadn't ever come to mind.
