Yikes, this is a terrible post. @Siege @Nocturnal @Aries AND @ whoever else is in the Melonii group!
Grezig had come upon new scents in the forest. Scents of wolves she hadn’t met or seen yet. She called Siege to her side and went to investigate, hoping they were friendly and possibly loners that could be recruited. So far, everyone in the forest had been kind, or at least neutral. Along with Siege, she bent her head down and followed the new smells til she came into contact with the new wolves.

The Nocturnal raven-express was chugging along the borders they had settled on. It wouldn't be long before winter and she'd be sure they'd have some loners on their doorstep wanting to join in no time when the cold would settle over the flatlands. But there was something wrong; they were used to wolves passing by every now and then, not having the numbers to aggress onto any of them yet, but there were consistent scents within their forest now. Tulu and her had discussed the matter ever so briefly, but the bird was too stubborn to fly up ahead and see what was amiss. She went in search of @Damien and @Midar then, hoping to find the two men before someone else found her. With a worried howl did she alert them, just moments before the strangers were at her feet.
There were two; a white, tall brute male and a smaller female dressed in an earthly pelt. Tulugak, from behind her shoulder, eyed the two strangers with curiosity but also suspicion. Nyx hoped her allies would arrive shortly, for she was indeed outnumbered in size and strength, as Tulugak was more a thinker than a fighter. She raised her brows, arranging the constellations upon her forehead above her mismatched eyes, silently demanding an explanation.

The stalwart guardian arrived immediately upon his companion's summons. Tracker by hobby he guided her alongside him to the strangers, and soldier by trade he stood solid at her side as they came upon the strangers that were in their claim. Their scents had not permeated the forest, no border had been marked, but it seemed as if by her howl she had about the same number as they did (presumably, @Laroche was still with them).
He hoped it would not come down to blood, for he did not want to kill — but if it did, he prayed Ares would smile down upon his crew.
The beast moved along the borders searching for anything that seemed out of place--any scent that shouldn't be there. The howl gave him pause, and his head whipped in the direction it had come from. From what he could tell, there were intruders, and Midar was eager to find them and show them what it would cost them.
He arrived to find a sandy female and a white male; both were strangers and so he was immediately on alert as he came to stand next to his packmate. He looked upon the pair wearing his usual blank mask, violet gaze searching for weakness or signs of aggression. He said nothing as he stood there watching and planning, waiting patiently for his cue to do what he did best--take them out.

He wasn't with the two loners he had met the day before, he wasn't with anyone nor did he care about the actions of others at this moment but when the howl of a female he didn't know went up, he allowed himself the moment of curiosity to go check it out. No sense in wondering all day who else had wandered into the forest, it was better to just go see. He arrived to see Grezig and the other male standing facing another dark furred female and a silent male who loomed menacingly over them. He didn't like that. Not one bit. The land here wasn't marked with claimed borders and they had no reason to stand there so demandingly. He moved closer and stood to Grezig's side, brow raising to mimic the female's expression though he remained just as silent as everyone else.

In truth, it still felt odd to be out of the shelter of the Woods he had grown so used to, with the shadows that lingered around every corner - here, even in these woods, he felt exposed. It was unfamiliar, but the soldier of steel made no attempts to voice aloud his thoughts. Perhaps he would adjust with time.
Aries had been lost in his thoughts (something not often witnessed, but tundra's behaviour still intruiged him and the encounter had yet to completely dissipate from his mind) when the howl echoed through his ears, body stiffening and venemous eyes tipping along the horizon; it was Nyx, and a low grumble reverberated from deep in his chest, threatening to spill from his throat like a boom of thunder. He was her ward, and so protection he would give - the svelte brute raised himself to his paws and approached in stealthy silence, drawing up beside the woman of night and glancing briefly to Midar before settling icily on the strangers.
The reaper would wait for a command before attacking; he stood as still as a statue, with sinister features quickly and efficiently detecting all the information about these wolves he could. Would it come to a fight here, the young man would be only prepared for what was to come. Crimson blood could be spilled, but he would not accept defeat with ease.

Sorry if I'm late guys.... I'm finally free from school omg
Had he showed up a little later perhaps things would have found a way to go sour quite quickly, but Damien was timely as he emerged from behind his crew to face the first actual threat that the four (five, if you count Tulugak) of them had encountered in their new home. It was true, His clan had been lenient when it came to marking the borders, but their claim was a serious one anyhow.
Get outwas all he said, with a deep, serious tone to his voice, seeing no need to explain anything to the strangers. The intruders were outnumbered, and the Mark of the Melonii had been set for a while now. With his family all around him, and knowing all their characters, Damien was confident as he pressed forward with his death stare.

Since there are so many wolves in this thread, this thread will continue in rounds with no posting order. Round 2 ends December 3, one week from today.
Many wolves came after the initial dark one, who stared at her curiously. A young male who said nothing. Laroche came next, the one they’d spoken to before who had given Siege some lip. She could not count on him for help, for he had not thrown in his allegiance with them. A grey-furred male came next, standing beside the woman. Last was another dark wolf. This one spoke, telling Grezig and Siege to get out. Not very friendly. Grezig ignored him.
She turned her eyes to the woman, since it seemed the group revolved around her. “Who are you?” she asked, keeping her voice and stance neutral. “All of you?”

The star-kissed woman was glad to see her companions join her. While she greeted them with a nod and a small smile, Tulu fluttered his wings, nearly hitting her in the head, as he cawed to welcome them. They outnumbered their intruders, even without counting her raven friend, and this made her feel a lot more confident. She puffed out her chest as she took her place beside the men, staying ever so close to Damien, and was annoyed they still didn't know what the strangers were doing here. Surely they must've noticed the fresh scent of markings and other signs the forest was inhabited? Then again, maybe they were dealing with wolves who didn't give a crap about that or were too slow to grasp the seriousness of their situation.
That is none of your concern. She answered the other woman whom she thought to be the dominant one of their band.
The only matter that should cause you distress, is that you are in our forest and that we do not take kindly to such an insult to our hard work. She followed up, feeling somewhat talkative. Though a peaceful solution was preferred (that the damned woman take her two companions and left), she was sure their own band of souls was prepared to fight for what they were aiming to build.

While Damien felt most disrespected by the female as she blatantly ignored his authority, he was calm when his lover stood for their clan. They were equals, Nyx and him, and either one of their voices carried as much sovereignty as the other. With her words spoken Damien too fell silent, giving time to the rogue band to make the right decision and leave peacefully. It was in their best interests anyway.

Midar remained silent, angry violet gaze flicking between the female intruder and his leader as they exchanged words. To him, the warnings were pointless. Why not just let him solve this with teeth? That was sure to teach the group a lesson. Now that Damien and Aries had arrived, the odds were most definitely in their favor--not that it would stop him if they weren't. His ears flattened and he shuffled a little impatiently next to Nyx, lips lifting slightly to show fangs as he grew irritated that he was still looking at the group and not chasing them from the territory. His loyalty was the only thing that gave him pause. How lucky for the strangers that the beast wouldn't attack without the okay from his leaders, no matter how blood-thirsty he grew.

Laroche narrowed his eyes as two more showed up and he decided that he absolutely did not like where this heading. Sure he had smelled other scents besides Grezig's and Siege's, some stale and others more fresh. However, he had smelled stale and fresh scents everywhere he had wandered in Teekon so far, so that was nothing new. In his opinion if these four wolves wanted the woods so badly they should have made their markings more clear. In his opinion they were dealing with either four spoiled brats who had never gotten anything but their way, or four bullies who thought intimidation would make them Grezig, Siege and him run away like babies. He hated both of those types of people. "First off this land is neither yours Nor ours since neither party has officially settled. Second, I wouldn't say you worked that hard since your markings are damned lazy." he spoke calmly as he moved to officially stand beside Grezig.
"Let me get this wrapped up quickly. Are you intending to attack if my lady leader here doesn't call us away?" he asked and gave Grezig a quick glance, giving her a nod to signal he had finished his confident speech.

This round ends: Dec 10
The woman whom Grezig took to be a leader said some interesting things. ’The only matter that should cause you distress, is that you are in our forest and that we do not take kindly to such an insult to our hard work.’
“Hard work,” Grezig repeated, glancing around as if this work could be seen with the eye. “Your forest?” She inhaled deeply. “Your scent is faint—not strong enough for my companions or me to catch it at the borders. If this is truly your forest, you need to work on better patrols.” It was not meant as an insult—well, maybe a small one. But Grezig’s words were honest and she meant not real harm. Not that she expected this group to take kindly to her words. The others looked angry at hers and Siege’s and Laroche’s presence. Grezig did not want bloodshed. She would leave—probably—if violence was the only answer. They were outnumbered.
’First off,’ said Laroche, and Grezig turned in surprise at his tone. ’This land is neither yours nor ours since neither party has officially settled. Second, I wouldn't say you worked that hard since your markings are damned lazy.’
Grezig blinked at the male, then slightly inclined her head in thanks for his loyalty. “I think they got the message,” she said, though she stood slightly closer to Laroche to show that she was not angry at him.
But Laroche had more words, asking if the enemy group had plans to attack them. “That will not be necessary,” Grezig butted in quickly, giving Laroche a warning look. “We will leave. Now. It is nearly winter. I am not going to fight anyone over neutral territory when there are plenty of other places we can stay for the winter.” She inclined her head toward the enemy group as a sign of respect, but thought: I will be back later.
With that, she turned and walked away, looking to Siege and Laroche to follow. She would talk to them about this later.

Last post from me unless stopped! he will ignore any words tossed his way.
He didn't have much else to put in, Grezig had said her part and made the decision for everyone. There would be no fighting at that moment as they would leave the neutral territory. In a way this irked him, that they would give up the land so easily but when there was three against four odds against them, he supposed it was the smarter choice to walk away. He nodded to Grezig and let his gaze linger on the foursome that had gotten their way, sighing before turning and walking after Grezig without another word.

His ears flattened at the words from the silver-eyed male, and when he asked if they were intending to attack, he took a step forward, lips lifting to reveal teeth once more. He could feel his control slipping, and he wanted to lunge at that mouthy male, but still he waited for a command to do so. His attention was drawn to the leader when she began to speak, ears remaining flat against his head as she criticized their border marking skills. He stopped listening after that. He didn't care what they had to say.
When the female turned and left followed soon by the male, Midar looked to Damien and Nyx, asking if he should go after them and deal with them.

A smirk appeared on her pretty face. These wolves were really going to argue their claim while they were outnumbered and in the presence of some of the best fighters Nyx knew? Very well, if words did not phase them then teeth would. With a quick glance to Damien was she about to signal they could attack now, they had given the strangers enough time to turn tail after all, but she halted at the next words the earthly female spoke.
Not many things surprised the raven-carrying woman anymore, but this situation did. Her smirk disappeared but she was quick to regain her composure.
A wise choice. She commented with a "better-than-you" attitude. It appeared her first theory on why the strangers hadn't scented them before was correct; these wolves were slow of brain, but not brainless just yet.
She watched as the strangers turned, but then her eyes landed on Midar. She shook her speckled head.
Let us first see if we can trust their words. If not, we are allowed to rip them to shreds. She whispered so only her companions could hear. Tulugak flapped his wings to land on a branch nearby, watching the intruders until they would disappear into the mess of trees and bushes.

Oh, how sweet would it be to feast on the flesh of the invaders. Damien ran his tongue over his teeth, finally revealing them to cast a drawn out growl that was meant as a final warning. He did not, indeed, take kindly to such insulting words, and it was plainly stupid to break and enter on claimed lands, insult their owners and think they would get away with it. No. Things did not work like that around Damien, and while it was sensible a choice to walk away hoping for a peaceful leave without bloodshed, Damien wasn't quite a sensible leader. He was an alpha male, itching every single second of his life to take a bite off the asses of insolent creatures such as the ones that had so willingly entered their lair in this unique chance.
You bet,he growled in response to the golden-eyed male next to Grezig, and with a grin at Midar and the rest of his company Damien as ready to raise the banner for the chase. Luckily for the intruders, their leader was quite sensible indeed and called her hounds off in time. Nyx herself told the rest of them to wait and see if their words could be honored before tearing them to shreds, and although it definitely did not suit Damien's taste he silently agreed, glancing again at his companions to reassure his lover's choice. They were, after all, at the brink of winter, and they could use their health intact in the following months.

The gathering was laughable, to say the least.
He listened to the stranger's words with twinges of slithering amusement, salmon tongue flicking against the inside of his mouth where the flesh met sharpened daggers of bone - he could imagine the taste of their skin, ripped from their bodies and left to rot in the open winter air; it was an inticing display before his eyes, though their words at least were worthy of praise. A wise decision indeed, when the strangers turned to take their leave.
They would be back, perhaps - it was almost certain. They had given up the fight far too easily, and Aries' suspicion grew as glacials traced their dissolving figures, before turning back to his own company. "I will watch for them when I patrol."
They would be foolish to return.
