All Welcome
relic was berserkr.
ancelin felt touched by it, crazed; he stayed away from all others and stalked around the edges of the rise. but lilia had fought for it, redd had tested her!
relic hadn't stood. relic hadn't fought.
a growl thrummed in his throat;
do it,
and ancelin felt himself slip into the familiar lines of a hunt.

staying vague for now - we can set this before or after her thread with Relic, I don’t mind either way <3

There was an unease that Redd sought to soothe.  She did not wish to allow their pack to fracture - would not allow it, at any cost.  To fracture was to invite dysfunction and strife in a time when the focus needed to be new life.

So she would do what was needed.

The hunter fell in step alongside the stalker silently, allowing her movements to mirror without sound.  A glance, but nothing more; whatever he hunted, she would assist.

!!<3

ancelin prowled, and when he registered redd near him, he tossed her a cold look.
"pretty fucked, cuz," the boy mumbled, pulling up. it hadn't been deer or rabbits he sought, but relic himself, lilia's voice echoing in his head;
do it
"you saw her fight. you fought her." his indigo eyes demanded of redd that she make her stand.

Redd’s only response was to rumble in agreement, though she displayed none of the anger he seemed to carry.  She was frustrated and confused, but it was only because she did not understand the why of it.

He wanted something from her, but she wanted something of him too.  Things were uncertain; it was not a time for infighting.  Lilia had the right to her frustrations.  His need not add to the flames.

redd remained calm, and the lack of reaction from his cousin eventually loosened his own shoulders. he licked his jaws apologetically, scratched at the earth, then sighed out.
ravens, wheeling in the air. ancelin glanced up and then toward redd, eyes clearing. "let's go find out," he suggested to her, strides lengthening as he looked forward to whatever they were about to discover, secretly thankful for her peace.

She watched carefully, but with the same patience, until the tension visibly left him.  Something hidden in her came undone as well, some knot she always felt when there was unspoken and unresolved conflict.  Strife wasn’t the way of things.

Redd’s expression relaxed into a small smile, and she gave his chin a nudge to acknowledge the apology in his bearing.  She understood, but she was also grateful that he would not press this.  It was not her place to fix things not of her role.

She allowed him to lead them, sensing this would help and was perhaps something he needed.  Words failed her frequently but this understanding was deeper.

ancelin knew he shouldn't have favorite anything, but redd was growing on him, and masque had helped him.
he trusted them more than, well.
the voices of the black birds grew in harshness; he nudged redd and motioned toward a moose calf — and the heavy mark of bear paws around it.
it looked as though the predator had killed its prey outside the territory, then dragged it just inside the border to eat.
ancelin forced himself closer, the musky scent assailing his nostrils. he grabbed for a bite of the haunch all the same, bristling.
