After meeting the timid girl Korei, the wanderer set about making himself comfortable in the surrounding territories. He did not follow after her once she fled the scene, but held her scent in mind all the same. It was a point of reference that he referred to as he roamed. He visited forests, climbed hills, ventured to the northern limits of the valley, and worked his way back again — taking time to hunt when it was needed, but generally using the time to see the sights and get the lay of the land. It wasn't so different from other places he'd visited, not until Cinqefoil made a curious discovery.

He was high on a ridge, staring down at the valley that had caught his attention for the past few weeks, and that's when he saw it. An obelisk — no, a series of them — standing tall, gleaming in the spring light. It was unlike anything he had ever seen in his lifetime; yet as he descended along one path or another towards them, Cinqefoil was reminded of the tales his father and grandfather would share. Legends of great stone cairne composed of stacked rocks, which his people once used as grave markers. What were these monoliths? It was a morbid concept that drove him closer - curious, intrigued, fixated in the way that he often became with new things.

But as Cinqefoil got nearer and the land leveled out, he became aware of the scent of wolf in the air. He slowed his pace; there was no need to disrupt the natives simply for his own amusement. His father would be mighty proud of him for that realization, surely. The best method would be to call for someone, so he tilted his head back and sang a rough tune, then settled in to wait.

Valette lifted her head when she heard a howl. She was relatively close to the border so the pregnant female trotted towards it. However, she didn't keep that pace for long as her heavy belly was swaying. She groaned as she never experienced this with her last pregnancies, only a bit in the last week. It was to be expected with the size of her mate. Valette noticed that there was someone at the border. Was it someone that wanted to join?

Valette approached the male. She lifted her head, her tail was already raised. Her eyes looked curiously at him. "Hello, welcome to Easthollow. I am Valette the Matriarch. You called?" Valette introduced. She noticed that the male sported two different color eyes. She had not seen that before. She let the male speak to see what he wanted of them. She didn't recognize his scent, he was not from any of the packs she knew.
