The day hadn't exactly started off great. By now he sort of regrets bringing up the idea of finding a pack to @Midar — but he also doesn't. They've been stagnant for too long, and he doesn't think he can stand only having his husband for company another moment longer. As much as he loves him, he needs a break. Especially right now.
We can't stay alone forever. What if we both get hurt again? Are we just going to die? The last words have an edge to them; he can't help finding the whole thing ridiculous. He's so wrapped up in their argument that he doesn't even notice that they're nearing a stranger now, set to pass her if nothing stops them. He just wishes Midar would be reasonable for once.
