Blink. Wow this kid (he mentally emphasized it, of course) was way too wound up. Sounded like him when he was a kid -- maybe not quite, but definitely verbally aggressive enough. Okay fine, you don't wanna be called kid, you're gonna have to give me something to call you. I'm Mal. Pause. And I'm pretty sure most creeps and murders don't go around looking for their friends' friends -- they probably don't have friends in the first place.

Anyway, back on topic! The kid was preaching to the choir on that one. And you're not the only one who's had it tough. My mom left, dad stopped paying attention to us, when my sisters disappeared nobody gave a damn, and I sure as hell don't think anyone cared when I walked off too. But I'm sure they thought I was some sort of rampaging monster too. But here he was -- he had a pack, he took people in that weren't wanted, he actually cared for the people he took in instead of pretending. He was better than Elysium. So I don't care what the other people decided to call you. I offer a fresh start. Be who you want to be -- and you can prove you're better than everyone who wronged you... Purely out of spite if you want. Of course, that little last quip was with a bit of a smirk. Honestly, knowing he was doing a better job than Elysium was so very pleasing.
