Phox licked his lips, suddenly feeling like his throat was dry, and that made his decision for him. A drink sounds great, he said, relieved to have that as an option. Then I might go check in on Fig and Fenn. It was something he needed to do anyway, and it was an easy reason to stick around for Niamh while Nellie went off. Besides, it wasn't like he was lying exactly. He would go check in on the kids.

He hadn't caught on to Niamh's dirty joke, though later he would probably catch the double meaning of it and laugh about it with Towhee. For now, though, he continued to give Niamh a dopey, grinning look, ready to follow her (and perhaps Nellie, too) toward the nearest source of water.
