All Welcome
The white hunter searched for @Bartholomew.

Snowflakes glittered as they fell through the air around him. His pale shape faded into the winter background with ease. The only giveaway was the glint of ruby red from his gaze and the swatch of shadow that was his nose. Shiranui was made for the white fall of winter snow.

The wolf trotted across the earth, searching the pale land for the distinct dark figure of the preacher. They had been separated for a short time. Shiranui hoped that he had stayed safe.

they meandered, but he always knew how to find the pale hunter if needed.

the man made his mark across the land more than bartholomew did. and so it is himself who finds the other first, his figure easy to make out. familiar by now even in the snow.

blessed are we, hunter! we come together once more.

There he was!

Shiranui barked out a greeting, tail waving with familiarity. The preacher had not changed at all in the time they were apart. He even spoke the same. The white wolf trotted toward him with an eager pep to his step. He approached and sniffed at the man’s dark coat with interest. First at his shoulder, then touched to his chest, and lastly resting with his eyes on the preacher’s face.

Shiranui wondered where he had been and who he had found while they had been touring different paths.

his hunter was the only mortal man he would shrink before.

sheepish and near coy under the man's investigation. he had grown used to personal space once more in their time apart, but the man's closeness was not unwelcomed. just merely, briefly, unexpected.

you look well. He has heard my prayers at night for your continued health, he hummed softly. his hunter had not left his mind in their time apart.

the hunter was a vital part of his life in this lawless place.

Prayers meant little to the white wolf. It was the presence of the man across from him that carried more weight. Shiranui did not grasp the importance of the preacher’s words. He understood only that the man had wished him well while they were apart, and he had returned looking very much the same. This must have been a good thing, for the religious figure appeared pleased by it.

Shiranui waved his tail, stepping back a few paces so that he might look over the preacher’s frame with his gaze. The unfamiliar scents still lingered on Bartholomew’s coat, but the white wolf had gathered enough of these aromas to feel content.

A tilt of his head was offered as a way of asking what the preacher had been up to.

he had forgot how well he could read the pale hunter by now.

time apart had not erased the time together.

you have not missed much, hunter, he hummed softly in response as if he was about to set out to mindless work. recalling things while he took in their place.

i have spread the word further, enlightened a young boy and girl. he was pleased with his work that had been done in their time apart.

this is but the beginning, though!
