All Welcome
There were many faces that Issorartuyok wished to see. He felt disconnected from the wolves of their village. The man had been fretting over Heda and her kin. Those who belonged to the young woman’s homeland had suffered a tragedy. The northern man could only hope that they would overcome it and that they would find strength in the days to come.

Another face that he thought of was that of young @Veteran. Issorartuyok felt that in all the mess of shuffling their homes around, the young figure had not been given the right show of care from the man.

As the large figure prowled the edge of the mountain, marking to signal their intent to claim it, he kept his eyes trained for any signs of Veteran. The boy’s figure was never far from the borders on the glacier. Issorartuyok wondered if he would miss the home he had been born to, the one that he had been forced to leave behind.

The northerner paused and scanned the distance for any sign of Veteran.

what joy, what pure fucking bliss, the taste of fresh kill almost lustfully devoured by a still snorting, gasping hunter.

saliva and blood mixed into a waterfall pouring down the bitch's chin, tainting the formerly pristine snow as she tore into the soft, swollen belly of a fox, which so valiantly tried to defend that which was within it. that final crunch of neck bone upon being crushed by the powerful jawmuscle was all it took for diesel to rid herself of all doubt regarding the morality of her lunch.

the bone steak her master once fed her sounded about the same.

When the northerner met the beast with his gaze, he did not think that she was anything like a wolf. He watched her tear into the body of a fox with mindless hunger. Her features were bloodied, red, and unlike anything he had ever seen before. Issorartuyok stood upon the border and surveyed her for a long while before he dared to pad closer.

The hunter was near to the summit border. Atautsikut belonged there, and Issorartuyok did not want for other animals to test the strength of their borders before they had even settled. The village had endured enough.

A small warning growl was made. The sound shifted into a chuff. The northern wolf was attempting a wary greeting to the strange beast. If it did not respond well, he would shift his approach.

sorry for the late response! in a thread chronologically preceding this one (26th february) diesel suffered severe facial trauma, but as i wrote my initial reply to this scene before that occurred, any mention of them is absent in her internal dialogue. going forward i will refer to them as if they were always present, and you can handle this retcon any way you want, including editing your reply to include this information! for reference, this is how she's supposed to look now (note the lower lip is naturally loose and not a wound, i marked it incorrectly);

the absence of two chewing teeth made eating a less enjoyable experience. when one of the empty holes bled again, it mixed with what was in her mouth, making the act of swallowing it a kind of auto-cannibalism.

she thought it only made the meal taste sweeter.

the wet sounds of her meal drowned out the crunch of snow beneath the stranger's paws. once he growled, however, every muscle in the dog's body tensed. hazel eyes looked up, even though the head did not lift. she laid on the ground, having been too hungry to pay attention to how the thin spring snow soaked her fur. now, though, she was ready to bolt with her prize in mouth, every muscle visibly tensing up beneath her smooth fawn coat in preparation for that action.

she gave a warning growl, notably canine.

The best growled back with a voice that the wolf had never heard. Issorartuyok stiffened, drawing his head up high. The mountain was their’s. He did not have any intention of allowing a creature of this sort test those boundaries. She was not upon their land, but she was close enough to be of concern to the northerner and his people.

Issorartuyok bristled, slightly. He did not wish to fight if he did not have to. Spilling blood upon their land before it had even been claimed seemed a foolish thing to do. In truth, the northerner was tired after days of travel. It had taken a great deal of his strength and his spirit to cross the mountains as many times as they did. For that reason, he pushed forward another two steps.

You must leave. These grounds are claimed by my village. We have traveled far and we will not have trespassers in our new home. A last attempt at being diplomatic.

hazel eyes stared at the wolf, the mastiff stiff and unmoving until the animal took another step forward, at which moment she rose, foxmeat in maw, posture unmistakable hostile, defensive.

when he spoke, an ugly half-smile pushed her remaining flew up.

diesel had become aware of the impediment to her speech, and knew that with a mouth full of still-seeping flesh her garbled speech would be truly incomprehensible.

so, she decided language was for pussies.

the dog raised one hind leg and, without breaking eye contact with the male, unleashed a stream of steaming piss onto the snow.

in canine language, this would be considered a middle finger, combined with pissing on a stranger's doorstep.

with a flick of her tail and a wet sound that was almost a laugh, the bitch made a sharp turn and ran away.

The display from the ugly beast was rude and thoughtless. As the hideous monster pissed where she stood like an invalid child, Issorartuyok gazed at her with rising hackles. She would not draw closer, or her face would become worse than it already was – a difficult thing to imagine. The northerner would not allow for her to disgrace their grounds.

It seemed the goblin woman had grown tired of peeing herself and turned to scurry away. Issorartuyok believed a familiar scent had clung to her. He thought of meeting the man in the mountain who had boasted about his group Mereo. The northerner wondered if it would be viable to visit the man and discuss the goings on of his soldiers. Perhaps one had been devoured by the ugly creature he had seen.

Stepping beyond their borders and over to where the nasty beast had been, Issorartuyok pissed over her own marking and scratched dirt overtop it. He searched the terrain to be certain that the monster was gone and then returned to the mountain.
