augur examined a recent marking made by @Avicus.
red woman's scent was different, and that change struck a chord within the grey male that sent a pulse of instinct to his brain-stem.
he had intended to travel and find goldfinch. now he did not.
she had chosen blacktail after all.
augur spent the next several hours hunting, and despite his most cunning efforts he did not capture a fawn. instead he managed at last to capture a hare, and took the swinging gait of the wolftrot along the trail of his alpha female, looking for her with intrigued yellow eyes.
