attn: @Greyback maybe?!
The weather was getting cooler; Leta awoke with a small shiver and snuggled closer to her brothers for additional warmth. It worked, but she was not really tired any longer. Blinking, the bleary-eyed Leta looked up to the sky and realized that the stars were beginning to come out. Her tail waved as she disentangled herself from her siblings as gently as she could, so as to not disturb them (though her tail perhaps got in the way of that) and began to head toward a gentle hillock she knew gave her a better view of the stars nearby. Her mother and father were not nearby for her to invite them along, but as a star whisked across the sky, she wished one of them was; she adored spending time with them, though she was often quiet and soft-spoken. Their presence made her feel worlds bigger than she was, and stronger too.

Greyback yawned in an attempt to clear the foggy mist of sleep that threatened to take it's grip. It wasn't unordinary for the man to make multiple rounds through the night, to creep away from his sleeping family, to patrol, and return once again before even one of them rose.
But tonight, upon coming back he was greeted with the absence of his daughter. Greyback was quick to look around the den for her— just to make sure, and shook his head before he saught after her with haste and a quick nose. Luckily Leta never strayed too far from the little hobble, but she often had a nack for slipping away in the night, away from the watchful eyes of her parents.
Clearing his throat, the father approached and nudged the girl gently on her cheek in a greeting. "My love, why are you up?" he questioned before laying behind her to stretch his paws protectively beside her frame.

Leta heard the approach of her father, and turned to see his arrival. Her tail tapped against the earth in a happy little rhythm, and as he met her on the top of her small hill (which still felt large to her) and rest behind her, Leta snuggled up against him. Her wish had come true, she realized belatedly, and she beamed at one of her two heros with all the adoration she possessed. Leta nuzzled him back, and looked back to the sky as he asked her why she was awake. Then, Leta rolled onto her back, head leaning against his chest; ahhh, dads made the best pillows.
I couldn't fall back asleep,she admitted,
and then I saw the stars, and I wanted to get a little closer to them to see if there were any new ones, she shared. There were no new stars yet, but to Leta, there were new constellations to put together that she had never seen before. The word was not one she realized existed quite yet.
That one kinda looks like a bird!!!!she pointed out, gesturing toward it with her foreleg.
Right daddy????She peered up at him, hoping he would see what she did, but wondering if it was silly to make shapes out of stars.

The large man smiled as his daughter leaned back against him, her body radiating a tiny pocket of warmth against the rise and fall of his chest. It was moments like this that he thanked what little graces the world gave him. Valette, Ira, Leta, West, Newt, and Clay. His family. His Easthollow.
Greyback tipped his head as his little daughter talked about the stars. He supposed she always had an interest in the sky, but where she got it? Greyback didn't know. He looked upwards at her request, his nose pointing into the cold wind of the night. The once bright stars that stood out against the backdrop of the night sky now looked fuzzy and jumbled. Perhaps he was getting older faster than he thought.
"Ah yes, it does," He lied through a slow chuckle, hoping that would suffice enough for a reply to the young girl. "Can you point out more for me? Im sure you know lots more."

Leta had not the slightest idea he was lying, and snuggled up even more against his fluffy chest with a smile as bright as the stars above them. He asked for more, and Leta eagerly wiggled on her back and pointed out with her foreleg Scorpius.
And then she pointed out a large one that always caught her eye,
Uhm, that one kinda looks like a bug,she identified, tail beating against the grass beneath her.
With three stingers!!!She explained, seeing it in reverse. Scorpius had but one stinger, but Leta did not know what they were, and so she fashioned it into some sort of bug.
And then she pointed out a large one that always caught her eye,
And that... that's a big bear... and next to it... it's a little bear, like it's baby, maybe, she imagined,
Like me and you!!!!Leta marveled and related, and her imagination ran wild.
Do you think they see us?She asked in a faint whisper. Rocks were not living, and the earth itself was just that, she understood... but the stars twinkled so brightly that it felt like the movement must be them breathing! And she had never been told this was not the case. Stars had stories, just like her mother and father and family did.
