Valette offered a kind smile at the male. She was glad that even a relative stranger believed in her. That was nice. She was also glad for his understanding. Valette really sympathized with the male, because she felt that there was a lot more struggle in their world lately. Not only from other packs, but also from Mother Nature itself.

Valette listened to Taikon's wisdom. He spoke of Sagtannet and Mahler but wasn't sure if she knew them. But she listened, and realized that every leader had its hardships. "Leadership can take its toll on a wolf. It is not easy to carry such a responsibility," she nodded. "Luckily we do have friends so if everything goes wrong we can count on them."
