he was expecting a reply to come from somewhere within his current eye level, and for a moment, - despite staring right at the multicolored crowd - gucci thought he had gone blind.

he looked down.

it was a child.

"yuour a tch- eeld." gucci slurred, then frowned, his drowned faculties kicking to break the surface of his brainfog. 

"yyeau--" the thought, it was coming to him.

"y--" it was there. he could see it.

"yeAU!" finally. "should nAWT B--"

paws, no longer on speaking terms with the sense of balance, tripped over each other and sent the neb tumbling forward off the meat pile -- and onto the child that he could swear he knew from somewhere, if he could just remember where.
