Bearclaw Valley run for the hills

The change in the young woman’s expression was immediate; solemnity relinquished its hold and excitement flashed across Towhee Jr’s face, to mirror the devious grin that belonged to the Regina. Two strides apiece was all it took for them to draw together, and smiling teeth became unsheathed daggers that flashed and crackled like thunder and lightning. 

Like dancers with nimble feet they moved, Ameline surrendering an ounce of space only to find that the gap between them closer more quickly then she expected with Towhee Jr’s diversion; but the Regina was an excellent sport- when she wanted to be- and embraced the trick with a note of fascination that pealed from her lips in a trickle of laughter. 

She rose up on her hind feet, extending her forelimbs before her so she might ensnare her opponent now that she was within arm’s reach, tucking her chin to her chest as she swung her hips about, and aimed to haul Towhee Jr to the ground with her.
