The man was fast. It was a surprise to Glaukos, who had not anticipated the efficiency of Alaric's movement or his direct approach, as he came rushing for a headlong assault. It wasn't until the last moment, as he almost danced around Glaukos, that a hit landed across the soldier's shoulder. Glaukos braced against it and so he did not fall, but he felt the brunt of the collision and grit his teeth.

Then, with Alaric so close, he reached out and snapped his teeth at some part of Alaric as a means of tagging back. Glaukos was not delicate even if it was just a spar, and the force of which he grabbed the man would leave a bruise—but then the scene would reset, and the two men would watch one-another in anticipation for the next attempt.
