The man was down. He scrambled, but Glaukos was looming over him and at the ready, so when he failed to rise it wasn't long before Glaukos was pinning Alaric to the earth and loosening a low rumble. He hadn't meant to, but the fervor of their spar had summoned it out of him.

He pushed his weight over Alaric and held him firmly in place, perhaps a touch too rough given the fact it was a spar and not a true fight. After a moment longer to make sure the other man understood his loss, Glaukos relented. He withdrew and gave the man space.

You are faster than I expected, he commented in his dry way.

I think that is enough for now. Glaukos shakes the tension from his shoulders, striding in the manner of a proud lion having defended his territory—but the enthusiasm was quickly swallowed, buried.
