Then his grin turned a bit devious, but playful, I'm sure by the time we get there you'll be convinced.  But was his own charm working? Who knows. Mal liked to think so but his opinion wasn't super important, so he paid attention to her response. At the very least he hoped this would be fun -- even if at the end she decided to just say hi to Mango and leave. Mal, of course, hoped to keep her around, just in general.
