Bored. Haoming was insanely bored, wandering this island back and forth. She knew it was her home and all that, but honestly? She also knew there had to be more. After all, there was more to the world than the den, right? So obviously there also had to be more than the island, too. There had to be so much out there that she wasn't seeing.

Haoming huffed as she stomped up to the sea shore, paws dipping into the salty water. She had yet to enter the ocean, but she liked it, she found. It felt nice, and there were so many interesting things around it. Maybe that could cull her boredom, just a tad.

Orochi never strayed to far from their new captive nowadays. Someone had to keep an eye on her and that someone was gonna be him. If she dared to make a move, he'd be there to put her back in her place. Sometimes Orochi would stare down her makeshift prison hoping she'd emerge. It'd be a good reason to rough her up.

Today Orochi wandered down to the shore, not to far from where they kept the prisoner. He wasn't alone this time. He watched as the pup dipped her paw into the water.

Ew, was his first thought. It's been awhile since he'd been near any kid. Did he look that weird when he was her age?

Ew. Ew? The sound didn't surprise her so much as it infuriated and offended her. Haoming spun around and eyed up the stranger that said it - directed a sound of disgust at her? Her muzzle wrinkled and she narrowed her eyes, scanning the boy up and down with a frown on her lips.

Then, slowly, deliberately, she replied, "You're ew."

I'm ew? He let out a dry laugh. This had to be some kind of joke right? The more ew looking wolf here was her clearly, if she even was a wolf.

At least I don't look like a cross between a hairball and a bird.

Baby blue eyes narrowed and Haoming stomped up to the older wolf, puffing out her chest. Common tongue was not her first language, but it seemed it was something she could communicate with most of the others on the island. "I'm nuh-not b-b-bird!" she growled angrily. "My n-n-nuh-name Mi... Ming!"

He snickered when she stomped towards him. If she was trying to be threatening, it wasn't working at all. The stutter wasn't helping her situation.

Yes you are, M-M-Ming, he mocked, You look like a weird baby bird.

Her brows rose at his mocking tone and she paused, clipping her jaw shut. It hurt her feelings, very obviously, but she was quick to cover her emotional distress with a growl as she lunged forward, fully intent on biting the crap out of one of the boy's front paws. Wherever she could reach. He would deserve it, after all.

He burst into a full on laughing fit, tears and all. Orochi couldn't take her little face seriously. And that growl? Ha! Hilarious! But her bite, well, that wasn't as funny.

OW! It wasn't the worst bite he'd ever received, but it definitely took him off guard. He didn't know she'd actually fight him.

Orochi yanked his paw away from the little monster and tucked it underneath him. What the fuck? You wanna fight?

One, two, three- and Haoming was off wandering somewhere, Huā realized. They were older now, old enough to explore, and yet it still made her nervous... and soon she was following her trail down to the beach. When she arrived, an ear pricked at the tail end of a voice, saying what the fuck?. Perplexed, Huā found her way to the water, eyes catching upon Haoming, and- Orochi? Swearing in front of her child, daring her to a fight? Huā stomped forward, not letting small size hinder her dominance right now- tail arching over her back, hackles bristling, the whole show. What do you think you are doing? The mother snarled, intercepting to place herself between Orochi and her daughter.

Uh, yeah Haoming wanted to fight. Was that not obvious enough by the way she was literally fighting him already? Nevertheless, it was easy for the older wolf to get his paw away from her, and she was left bristling, angry, and growling - ready to lunge forward again had her mother not come into view.

Now, Haoming was not a submissive child. Obviously. But her feelings were still hurt and she didn't want to talk, instead remaining in a stiff posture, glaring up at the boy and waiting for the moment she could strike again.

He'd take her silence as a yes. Orochi lifted his paw above her head. Just one little swipe and it's curtains for the little shit.

Before he could do any damage, Hua came and intercepted them. She wasn't very pleased with what was going on, and Orochi had no clue why.

What? He slammed his paw into the sand. She bit me!

Haoming did not speak up yet, and Huā was grateful for a moment in which she could scold Orochi without interruption. She bit me! Huā rolled her eyes, mouth still tilted into a frown. She is child; of course she will bite! You were general here before- can you not hold temper against the bite of a baby? Huā huffed. If anything, she was disappointed. Orochi had never been the friendliest, but she had at least thought that he had enough man in him to not go around fighting children. Clearly that wasn't the case. If she bite, you scold her. Not swear, and threaten! She barked, maternal instinct showing some new side of her. If you hurt my children... That sentence trailed off, leaving his imagination to fill in the blank. They could certainly use a eunuch around here.

"I b-bite again!" she announced, visibly furious with the older wolf as she wove around her mother's forelimbs. He was mean and rude and said bad things about her. Her eyes narrowed and she let out a huff through her nose. "Go 'way!" She was confident before, in taking on her aggressor, but now with her mother there, she was invincible. Maybe she'd get in trouble in a bit, sure, but he was a big meanie and he deserved to get yelled at.

Well when she put it like that this all started to seem a little pathetic. She wasn't even half his size. There was no challenge. But of course Orochi dismissed the silliness of it all. If she didn't want to get beaten up then she shouldn't have picked a fight with him! That's the way he saw it.

It's Ming's lucky day, because Orochi was in no mood to find out the consequences for fighting the fuzzball. Yeah, I get it, he groaned. There would be no ass kicking, not now at least. This confrontation would be in the back of his mind of course, and Huā couldn't be her bodyguard forever.

For now, he'd go to another part of the island where he wouldn't be bitten by brats. Orochi headed inland, scowling at the girl as he passed by.

While Haoming still wished to fight, Orochi gave up, groaning that he understood the lesson (which therefore made that sentence... not so believable.) But Huā was happy to see that he had at least an ounce of maturity in him somewhere, even if it was still greatly lacking. As he exited, she turned to her daughter, who had wiggled her way through her legs and past her. 浩明。我们用文字解决冲突,而不是打架。 Huā murmured gently as she leaned forward to kiss her daughter's forehead. Little did she know that this lesson was a lost cause on the little warrior... but the empress would still try.

Words to avoid conflicts? But Haoming wasn't good at those. She huffed through her nose and shrugged her shoulders, bumping her head lightly against her mother's shoulder. It truly was a lost cause on her, but... it was admirable of Hua to attempt to teach her, regardless.

Haoming glared at Orochi as he passed, but would not attempt to bite him again.

For now.
