Duskfire Glacier if I die in my sleep, don't bother to wake me

All Welcome
Still a stranger to the lay of the lands, Roulette found himself wandering aimlessly. Not a single wolf was to be seen, so far. At least, none that Tzila had described to him before. He hadn't necessarily sought them out, but happening upon them at some point would be to his advantage. The sooner he was able to easily recognize the veterans of Duskfire, the better. The same applied to him. Now that he could call the pack his, he wanted the others to know it too. He was no longer an outsider.

The days after his encounter with Tzila weren't as eventful as he'd assumed they would be. Granted, he had time to rest and recuperate, but for being a territory belonging to a pack, one would think more would be going on.

Oh well. He thought to himself.

Have been roaming around for a while, Roulette eventually grew bored and tired. The moon was out and the sky had grown dark. Pausing beneath a small bundle of topiary, he huddled beneath one of the larger branches. Here was as good of a place as any to get some form of sleep. Slumping down over his flank, he curled himself up, though not too tightly as to cause discomfort. Forcing his eyes to shut, he waited, hoping slumber would befall him quickly.

Can we backdate to sometime in August, more shortly after Roulette was accepted?

Lane had been a better mother to her children since her return from her trip to Moonglow, but even good mothers needed a break sometimes. Her path carried her to the northern outskirts of Duskfire's claim, where the thin soil of the Sunset Valley met the steep, slippery slope of the Glacier's edge.

It was quiet out here. This was a border not often patrolled, seeing as it was nearly impossible for an intruder to climb up the slick northern edge of the glacier.

Certain she was alone, Lane decided to do something a little silly. She crouched down onto her belly, peering over the edge of the glacier for a moment before she kicked off, sailing down the steep slope and picking up speed as she went. She barked jubilantly, exhilarated and feeling like a puppy herself.

Eyes tightly shut. Looming air slightly frigid, nipping at his naked limbs. Unfortunately for him, the thick spread of fur did not reach each portion of his frame equally, sparing him little comfort. The topiary, however, did well to shield him from any rain. That was a blessing, to say the least.

Slumber was near -- he could almost feel it... but, at the same time, he also felt too chilled to be relaxed. A noise had also risen, distracting him. Ears now risen, a growl emerged from the depths of his larynx. Some creature was making a bountiful racket and it was irritating far more so than he would have liked.

It was a quickly made decision for him to up and find the cause of the disruption and put a swift end to it. Groaning, Rou pushed himself up to his behemoth paws and took off towards the sound of the barking. It wasn't far, thankfully, so he was saved a lengthy trip. Pausing upon a decent slope, he grew confused. There was something here... Where is it now?

Tilting his head slightly, he bounded towards the edge of the slope and peered over. Ahah.

There was some wolf down below. Were they injured? They had been barking after all, but it sound as though it were a cry of pain. Scowling, Roulette sent a heavy bark downwards, alerting the stranger of his presence.

The man's singular, booming bark drew Lane's attention upward, toward the spot at the top of the glacier that she had only just left behind. In the gathering darkness she could not see his disapproving expression, but the way he loomed just somehow felt judgmental.

Was it Wintersbane? No, he wouldn't just be standing up there watching her.. He was far too busy for anything like that, it seemed. Lane had barely interacted with him since, well... that time they interacted. Specifically, when Wayfarer and Veteran were conceived.

No, the voice was wrong, and the behavior was wrong for it to be Wintersbane. This was someone new, someone who was currently judging her through the eyes of a stranger. Hell of a first impression she just made.

"Coming down?" she called up to the man, trying her best to hide how ridiculous she felt.

There was a great pass of silence as the woman realized she was no longer alone. Staring down the cliff side, the man's gaze was deep and cold. She appeared confused, as did he. Hell, he'd just found a grown she-wolf tumbling down a hill for fun? Who did that? Packs surely were far different from what he was used to.

Nostrils flared, he chuffed towards her invitation. She was surely of Duskfire Glacier, as she held their strong perfume. At least this meant he didn't have to tear anyone up while he was still new.

Shouldn't you be coming up? I gather someone would be expecting you elsewhere... Not rolling around like a juvenile. The words he spoke were harsh and full of the new judgement he'd now placed upon her. Though, perhaps if they spoke more, his view would change. There were some that did stupid things, but that didn't make them any less of a good hearten individual.

Despite the opportunity Lane had offered the stranger to make this not weird, he insisted on calling attention to her little joy ride. He didn't even know her, and he wanted to point out what he thought she was doing wrong the very first time they ever spoke? She was already over this conversation, and especially this guy. He wouldn't be sticking around long anyway.. new people never did.

I wasn't rolling around, Lane wanted to shout back. It had been a highly-controlled slide, thank you very much! But even in her own mind, the words sounded overly defensive. She had absolutely no reason to be ashamed. She was the gamma of this pack and a professionally recognized medic and scout, not to mention a mother to Duskfire children. She had probably done more for the pack in the last hour than he had the entire time he'd been here (which was how long exactly? Like ten minutes?).

"What do you have against fun?" she growled back, switching her tail in annoyance. She began stalking back up the side of the glacier, eyes trained on the ground in front of her and decidedly away from her judgmental company.

Going to fade, since Roulette is inactive.
