All Welcome
Open to parents, sitters, puppies... anyone that might be welcomed by @Shikoba or @Inutsuk really. (1 week old.)

He slept for many hours, and did dream, but when the waking world pulled him free of the shifting ocean of this otherworld Mojag did not grasp things hard enough to keep them close.

His senses were clouded and would remain in such a way for many weeks to come. However, he was quick to find his feet, to stomp and kick, to suck air and holler with a voice that he felt, rather than heard.

Nothing could stop this boy - this little gale of wind put in to a tiny storming body - and he made it as far as the mouth of his mother's ulaq before something stopped him.

she was blessed with a quiet spirit it seemed as the boy spent most of his time sleeping against the warmth of her belly. shikoba adored every little detail of her son and hoped that he would grow to be big and strong like his father.

surprisingly enough, the woman has been sleeping better after giving birth. her nightmares have become less frequent and less intense. as of this past week, she had only woken up a few times during the week. perhaps there is something tied to the little boy that brings about a great sense of peace to shikoba. either way, she could not complain.

the sound of something catches her attention, shikoba turns to see that -- oh dear -- the boy was heading for the outside world! while the woman would normally commend her child for such a quick act of swiftness and bravery, she instead comes to nudge him with her nose and redirect him towards the furs that lay against the floor of the ulaq.

"not yet, mojag. not yet." a soft and reassuring voice to him with a tender lick against his face. she wonders if mojag would end up being the child who had to be kept on a leash all the time for trying to run away or escape.

Inutsuk had parted from the ulaq early that morn, leaving behind both a sleeping wife and son.

Son. Thinking or saying such a word would take time to grow used to.

He had returned somewhat of a short time later, clutching a hare with a firm hold. Given that Shikoba spent most, if not all of her time nursing, sleeping, and otherwise tending to new arrival, certain aspects would need providing. Food being one of them.

As soon as the tawny man drew nearer to the arch of the ulaq, he realized he'd made it in the nick of time to catch his mate coaxing their son back through the hearth. So, he was trying to be an escapee now?

Stifling a chuckle beneath the mouthful, Inutsuk tread within, eyes caressing the sight of the two most important entities in his life.

He set the hare down gently, nudging it close to Shikoba. I assumed you might be hungry upon waking. With a gentle huff and affectionate kiss, he then settled down beside her.

Then onto Moja. He's becoming quite the adventurer. Quite the free spirit, an easy thing to notice. When older, he'll turn to be a fine hunter — one that Moonglow will be greatly proud of. A smile crept to Inutsuk's lips, eyes heavy in fondness.

It did not help his adventurous spirit that he could not always organize his appendages. Mojag neared the opening of the ulaq without knowing, as he could not use his senses, and when he touched upon a sunlit patch of floor the warmth surprised him, sending him backwards, then sideways, as he tumbled the few inches to the ground.

Thankfully his mother was there with prompt guidance. He bounced back from the feeling, pivoting in to Shikoba's embrace and then nesting in the furs, while overhead his father crept in with breakfast.

Mojag only became aware of him when he made sound, not for the words themselves but the vibrations he felt, and he tipped his pugged nose up towards Inutsuk and yawned.

mojag was a funny little boy, so adventurous and full of life and spirit. she wonders to whom he gets that from. thankfully, it does not take much to coax him back towards a spot of rest. with the return of her husband back to their shared space, the woman nuzzles into her son softly before returning the gesture to inutsuk.

a growl in her belly is enough of a sign of thanks for inutsuk's good hunting skills. the hare was quite appetizing to her nose and eyes. "inutsuk always thinks ahead," she says softly in thanks to him, though when she looks towards her little darling boy once more, she can see him set on his father.

"look there," she says softly to him with a smile, "mojag looks for you." perhaps he was too small to realize who his father was, but perhaps he knew on the inside that someone else of importance shared the space with his mother, that someone else kept him warm during the night.
