Barrow Fields The Empty Burrow

A few days after Sydney's visit to Ankyra Sound, her travels took her to a field. A large field, with odd mounds scattered evenly around. Rabbit burrows! That was her first thought, even though she couldn't smell any prey. Still, she raked her paws across the surface of the mounds. No movement or alarmed squeak. She continued to dig deep but there was no reward. Frustrated and hungry, she sat down and gave an angry howl.

this girl called out in anger, a howling sound. his heart twisted further, so his gut followed as well. tentatively he approached her. warm but touched with concern.
