Zharille did not know what to do when the group returned to the land of stone and dust. She kept away from the warriors, and from Senmut.
Instead of venturing beneath the mesa to the hallways and wellspring, and whatever else sat unexplored, Zharille led her remaining children to a low, stony crag close to the barracks that the mazoi kept for themselves.
Here, she busied herself: rolling in some wild scents she found there, then trying to drag sand away from a gap in the stone wall to see if there was shelter available for @Miho and @Racharra to stay cool.

Melody, too, was avoiding some of Akashingo's members. Namely Senmut and the girl he'd fallen to pieces over. He'd hardly spoken to Melody since his return, it felt, and now — !
It was not her place, she knew that, but whenever she thought of him or that girl, something burning and bright green wrapped itself tightly around her insides. First Pharaoh had left, and now this, this... well, Melody was no one's fool but her own. She kicked rocks around the Mesa sullenly until she came across one of the newcomers, the mother, seemingly working on something. Her head tilted as she came to a stop not far from the other wolf.

Need any help?Melody found herself asking, almost glad for the opportunity to distract from the rage brewing inside of her.

She was with her mother once more, and this brought peace to the young girl. Khaba had been a provider to her, but nothing more. There was no tenderness in his touch. As she followed the brutish woman into their new home, Miho did her best to keep up with her long strides, her own gangly legs working double time. A quick glance or two to her sister to make sure what family she had left stuck together.
She knew little words, no one in Greatwater had taught her more than a handful for basic communication. But as the band of women came upon a peculiar looking over hang of rock, and Zharille stopped to tend to it, she spoke. "Mother?" Throwing her head to its side, Miho rested her cool gaze for a moment on the excavation of what was to be their new home.
The arrival of a new face jolted the girl out of her trance, sending her whirling around and prickly like a startled cat. She now knew her job: security duty. Standing as tall as her frame would allow it, Miho widened her stance as she blocked the stranger's path from coming any closer to her family. Cold and intense, she glared but nothing more than that. She would save her teeth and claws for now. Of course, this woman did nothing to warrant such a reaction from the child, but Miho couldn't lose the only sense of home she had left. Too much changed too fast, and deep down she felt horribly anxious.

ejected from their home and now venturing into strange lands, the adolescent followed behind her mother and sister. she'd lost the height advantage of being the firstborn pup, as miho's stature passed her own. this was something racharra only noticed on the journey back to here; this strange place she'd have to resign herself to call home. racharra had more qualms about her indifference to losing her home and her father than actually losing them. maybe it was because she at least still had company.
racharra's thoughts were halted by the stranger that caught miho's attention. her own gaze sharpened, brows furrowed. the hackles of her dark fur raised but she remained put, not making any further move. racharra had been in a haze ever since they deparated from greatwater but the one thing she knew for sure is that at this moment she did not appreciate any company aside from her blood. maybe the haze was from the heat, but at this moment the cub's targets lied squarely on the stranger.
she didn't realize the only wolf that could truly pose a threat to the stranger wasn't the two fussing cubs but the woman that gave them life.
