Gunnar had a brief moment to sit and enjoy the sun. Taktuq was feeding their children and this he couldn't help with yet. But he'd return to help her with baths and give her a break to go settle her legs and keep the babes warm.

He wasn't sure how well he was doing. He was trying. But not for the first time and probably not the last he wished his mother was here.

But they were lovely and he hadn't realized he could be so content with his life and he was. He really was. He threw a prayer to the gods that wherever Sanja was she was fine and she knew he was grateful. Because she was the one who had brought him here.
