Heron Lake Plateau We might fall in love- or fall apart

Another voice spoke, one much softer in tone than the one she'd heard just a minute ago- and she finally understood the words. She didn't open her eyes, even when she felt Screech lay down beside her and oddly enough- and being as dazed as she was, the warmth was welcome, as was the soft fur. Momentarily, she'd forgotten the fact that he was the one who'd done this to her, as the pain from their collision had taken over all of her conscious thought. 

Without a word to Raven, she slowly rolled over- eyes still closed- and curled up against Screech, burying her face in his fur and whimpering slightly with the pain that came from movement. All she wanted was some time, to allow her head to stop throbbing, so she could actually figure out what had just happened.
