Heron Lake Plateau We might fall in love- or fall apart

The longer she gave herself, the more she felt a bit less....Bleary. She recognized Raven's voice, finally, and cracked open one eye, as though to see her, but all she saw was a mess of grey fur. Carefully, she tilted her muzzle so that she could see past Screech's pelt, and squinted at Raven before rolling her eye up to see Screech. It didn't bother her, for a minute. She knew Screech. They were friends. They were-

When he said the word elk, the fur along the nape of her neck bristled. Something about the idea of there being an elk ruffled her. And she felt prickly about being this near Screech too; so in response to what he said, she growled, softly. She panned through her memories, brow furrowed, and couldn't exactly remember why she was angry with him, but slowly, the emotion seeped back into her system, and she growled a bit more loudly as she forced herself up into a seated position and though she didn't want to stand to move, she scuffled just a bit, leaning away from him now that she knew who it was she'd been snuggled against. In a voice quiet and gravelly, she squinted at him. "Seriously?" She asked, scowling, before she reiterated: "Seriously?"
