Heron Lake Plateau Lost some pieces I can't replace

Colt seemed to take everything in stride, without overreacting or judging her openly. It made her feel more comfortable around him, as there weren't many other wolves in the pack she would have been able to turn to. Quixote and Raven were busy, the Blackthorn females probably all really hated her right now, and Towhee...Towhee hadn't been around, which was incredibly disappointing. Tegan, as much as he was one of her best friends at the Plateau, probably wouldn't have had the couth to be able to make her feel any better about her situation. 

"Thanks Colt," She said, probably sounding like a broken record, but there wasn't much else that she could come up with. She worried about him seeing her den in that state and suddenly, the image came to mind of the blood that still soaked into the ground not far from it. She'd forgotten all about that, and she balked. Her ears turned back, and like a horse unwilling to cross a treacherous bridge, she couldn't make herself continue toward the den. They weren't far away, but she could have sworn she could smell the blood- but of course, it was simply all in her head. She planted her feet firmly, and shook her head. She begged him with wide, fearful eyes. "I can't. I'm sorry, I...I haven't...I haven't been back there since, I just don't want...There's gonna be blood everywhere, can we...Can we just..." She said, squeezing her mouth shut and begging with doleful eyes.

Anywhere- anywhere but there.
