With her nose to the ground, the albino female made her way through the Morass Edge. These wetlands held a great source of plants that she could gather. She wanted to get everything in stock now it was summer and plants were thriving. When winter would come, most of the plants would be dying.
The female looked a little muddy from trotting through puddles and the wet underground. She didn't mind it too much though, she was hard at work. The female found the plant she was looking for and went to dig to get the root out.

I hope it is okay to throw Maiken in here. I would like her to get her base trades. If you'd prefer someone else. I have no problem deleting, just let me know <3
Maiken had woken and she had explored the caverns for a time, and then had slowly stepped blinking into the sun. She smelled Arlette, heading away from the caverns, and for a moment she stood in indecision. Arlette was white like Kvitravn's, her conversation still rose bitter in her throat with Jormugandr. She felt adrift, and unsure, but she also realized she was being unfair. So with a gentle huff to herself, she began to follow the meandering trail of the albino she wolf.
Maiken found her near the wetlands, where there was at on of plant life. She sniffed and felt an eagerness spring up. She was glad she followed her. Her tail wagging she chuffed.
What is this plant? And that one? I think i recognize this one.

I don't mind at all <3 I would like mastery for Arlette so hopefully we can have many threads together
Arlette chuffed in greeting when she heard her fellow medic approach. Looking for plants was always more fun together rather than being alone. "I am digging up comfrey root, it works well to fight infection with open wounds," she explained. "I feel lucky I found it," she commented.
"I would also like to gather some reeds, as the whole plant can be used," she added. They weren't difficult to find so she would gather those last.

Maiken smiled.
I wouldn't mind getting mastery's eventually with Maiken either <3
Maiken smiled.
I know this one. I had it in my collection in my former pack. She sniffed gently at it a serene smile on her face and then she began to dig a few paces away.
Though mine was slightly different looking, because of placement and area. She slowly worked her paws into the mud, one good thing about tiny paws, it wasn't as damaging to the plant. Once she was certain she got enough root she slowly worked it from the ground one paw then two.

Arlette dipped her head with a smile. "Good. It is very useful to have. With the Saints, I've noticed that healing comes mostly to wound caring, and perhaps some broken bones. Little illness, except from infection. But most wolves would have gotten banged up in a fight," she spoke. It was logical since most of the Saints were fighters.
"I'm glad you are able to help," she smiled. "More mouths to carry," she grinned. Then she continued to dig out the root with care and pulled it out. Then she could bring extra reeds and maybe they would stumble on some other plants.

I am assuming there would be a river nearby.
Maiken smiled sadly.
Much like my home pack. Though most of them were to stubborn to allow me to fix them up, unless they were dying. Though usually my mother could persuade them to allow me to help. She thought of her mother. The one wolf who had cared about her more than anyone.
Maiken was about to grab the extra then she stopped at the glitter further away.
There maybe some burdock root near the river. It helps with fevers, among other things. We should catch some rabbits use the skins to carry plants. She then bent swiftly and grasped the Chicory gently in her teeth.

Arlette chuckled. "It sometimes be like that, but then you just have to be firm. Give them a big nip and tell them that you are going to heal them anyway," she hummed. She knew she could do that with Nyra. With her new husband though.... she might not be as forward with him.
"Oh wonderful," she spoke and then followed the other female, after picking up what she had dug. The female suggested to get rabbit skins. Arlette placed the roots down. "Let's do that another time. To track, hunt, kill, and then skin them will take a lot of time. I'd rather grab what we can and then bring this home," she admitted. But it was a good idea for next time to use rabbit skin as a carrier. Genius, actually.

Maiken wished it had been that easy. Most of her pack had tolerated her just enought. Sure they knew her healing skills were invaluable, but she was the smallest wolf in the entirety of her home pack. And her father had made sure to poison anyone he could to her existence, because he had wanted her dead when she took her first breath. She wasn't certain why he had hated her even after they realized she would live, but he did. Perhaps it was not that he hated her, but that he hated he didn't get his way.
Maiken realized how she had sounded, but she hadn't meant that. She meant furture too.
She liked to use skins, she also liked to dress them for patients.
I can do that. Have done that. I am tiny, but mighty. She joked. Though she was only half joking. Maiken was not to be messed with. She fought with everything when she had too, she simply preferred not too.

I already have some drying.

I would like to ask do we do pack hunts? I would like some deer skins for on the floor for those who are injured or sick.

Arlette smiled, she could agree with that. She felt tiny and mighty as well. She only admired the other for having such an attitude. "Oh wonderful, gosh, you are prepared," Arlette spoke. She felt a little chaotic now with her just gathering things with her mouth...
"I believe so. I must be honest that I am not such a hunter. I've become better at it, but before I never really had to join pack hunts," she commented. She did other tasks for the pack. "You should ask Fury for a hunt or her husband. Perhaps they can hunt some."

Maiken smiled at her kindly. The herbs in her jaws. They were almost there and then they'd return. Once she finally placed them down to speak again.
Maiken smiled.
Only because i had to be. As Svartravn they do not listen unless you can prove your prowess at least my pack at any rate. There are other factions of Svart's and Kvit's, that are not related.
Maiken smiled.
I learned to hunt as necessity. I didn't always get a share of kills. So I learned to catch rabbits, mostly. Sometimes birds, but I am not as fond of birds. Depending on size not enough meat.

Hunting reminded her of her mother. She was such an avid hunter, a real silent killer. Arlette always felt so clumsy next to her. Her mother's lessons were rather discouraging instead of inspiring. Which was when she focussed on other skills. Arlette nodded. "Rabbits and voles are doable for me. Though with rabbits it takes me a few tries," she spoke.
Then the female grabbed the herbs. She made a motion of her head to go back. She rather wanted their hard work to be safely stored away.

Maiken nodded as she picked up her herb. She added a hurried movement in her step. Arlette was right, it did not bode well to tarry, when they had plants in their maws that needed relocated. If out of the ground too long, they would die and all of their work would be for naught.
As they traveled, Maiken reflected, and she found a sense of peace in the other healers presence. It felt good to finally belong somewhere. And with like mindedness. It did her heart such good. She would have to find a way to thank the she wolf for treating her so well.

I will end it here <3
Arlette had the same reflection when they were moving back to stash their loot. It was very pleasant to have Maiken around. She liked that she had so much information she didn't know about, and an extra set of eyes and ears to just... talk with. It was refreshing. Dove was friendly but didn't talk a lot to her. She offered the other a smile as they trotted back. She should really show her thanks to the other one day.
