aminthe was off playing with meerkat's babes, so she went at once to find @Quennell. "come wid me!" his older sister urged. "i have some'tin' i t'ink you be wantin' to see."
she headed off at once from corsair beach, cutting across the shallow water before she looked back for her brother.

every now and again, one of his older siblings found something great and brought it to him. now that he was a bit older and bigger? well sometimes he got to go see these things with them. and it was good he had learned how to use his lean legs and large paws in his movements now.

of course i'm wantin' to see! he boomed brilliantly as he took off after her. he crashed through the shallow water without a care in the world.

mireille nipped his ear and then led him in a run across sapphique, to the entrance of the tunnel. by now he had been through many times, but she still kept close in case quennell feared the dark.
once out into the sun once more, she showed him the blob of lavender on the sand. "don't touch it!" she warned. "de tentacles, dey will sting ya."
instead she found a stick of driftwood, and showed her brother how he could poke the jellyfish with the opposite end before handing over the tool to watch.

seemed like the perfect way to make him want to touch it! but mireille was already showing him how to prod at it with driftwood and he realized suddenly the perfect sword that would make — and every pirate needed a sword!

so he clasp the driftwood between growing teeth and slapped it down with a meaty thud against the jellyfish. watching as it rippled.

its surface was like jelly. she laughed. "dey eat fish wid a beak! like a bird," she told him, uncaring if quennell believed it or not. it was the truth, and the longer he lived beside the sea, the more he would know.
"de tentacles, dey zap! a fish! until it cannae move. an' den de slowly bring de fish to de beak." she pretended to nip him, to demonstrate.

a near customary sound from him by now. he was not truly, deeply, entranced if the whuffing of half-asked what did not escape him.

he backpeddled with laughter at her nipping.
