All Welcome
Made some assumptions that I hope are ok, so I kept things vague!  This thread may be technically a little forward dated, but for now, IDK.  It exists. XD  Tags probably just for ref.

He had turned and left, incredulous at the fact that his own father had gone and so deeply betrayed them.  Why would @Delight allow himself to be bewitched by those two hags?  They'd destroyed the pack, destroyed their lives, and for some bizarre reason everyone circled the wagons around them like they were the most precious things on earth.  They weren't.  Not at all.  Delight had long since given up on his own three children that already existed -- Solomon apparently was worth even less than himself and his sister, from what he could tell -- because of women that probably should have been fed to the cats that they were too weak to scare away in the first place.  There really wasn't much to be discussed about it, even if Delight had tried -- just nope, he was not going to stand for this.  He was no longer even worth a good bye.  The pack was a disaster, mid-collision with an iceberg that only Mal could see and he was going to go out, find a lifeboat and rescue the one person in the pack that he actually gave a damn about.

He'd told @Brilliance that he was't going to stay.  That he couldn't bring himself to continue to stay in this festering wound of a pack.  That he would find something better, as he had previously mentioned numerous times before.  He had a plan, sort of a timeline, and he had to do something because nobody else out there was willing to do so.  He was tired of their bad treatment, of just being ignored.  He needed a place where he and his sister could actually live and not suffer.  But he would be back.  He'd go out on a longer quest -- like a month or so -- then he'd come back and report what he'd found.  Hopefully by then there'd be something.  Though Mahler had made his offer, Mal wasn't sure if he as going to take it right off the bat -- it sounded too convenient, and he felt like something being so easily available would turn out to be a disaster.  No, he would need to make sure that wherever they went would be right.  At the very least, he made sure Brillo knew that if things really did go to hell, at least that might be a place for her to go hide -- Mal would be able to find her there if she was gone when he returned to Elysium.  But hey, at least with him gone, she could have what he'd normally take from the cache, so maybe that would help her here.  He didn't know how to otherwise help her.

Now he was out here on his own, in the wide sprawl of a snow-laden field.  Though it was cold, the weather was fair for the season.  He'd eaten the rabbit he'd brought with him from the cache earlier in the day, and now it was just him.  Just a boy putting as much distance between himself and his past as he could, going a direction that he usually didn't if only so he'd be less likely to be chased.  Hopefully he had nobody trailing him.  They'd had ample chances to do something, but the modus operandi of Elysium seemed to be, "do nothing."  He didn't believe in it.
