All Welcome
Not trespassing, but close to the territory. Any injuries (except life threatening i suppose) welcome.

It was an awkward and potentially dangerous situation, being near a pack's borders. The fact that each pack had its own rules and policies for handling someone at their borders made this even worse. He had  (hopefully) experienced the worst of pack border policy, being born to Blackfeather Woods, where blood, guts, gore, and bones strewn the borders — his uncle Damien seemed to carry the practice with his own pack, attacking any who came near. So he was rightfully concerned as he approached the Bay.

If he knew the history of this territory, it may have been natural for him to come here. Vaati's paternal grandfather owned this place. Vaati's father lived here once. Three wolves, similar in stature and coloration and temperment. But he was no seer, or scout, having little knowledge of the world outside of Blackfeather Woods and their neighbors. So the irony of this first inquiry was lost on him as he howled for the occupants.

there were few occupants in the rift that rannveig knew, and ever since his brother had gone missing, the boy was at crossroads as to what to do. on the one hand he had searched nearby countless times for ford, thus abandoning his duties to the rift — but making sure your packmate was okay was a duty, right?

he was making his way back from such a search when he heard a howl, and after some investigation, found a rather brightly colored male in their midst. casually strolling up to the wolf (and recalling how poorly it had worked the last time they just idly let a man in their ranks) rannveig cocked his tail and spoke: you need help, pal? he was not by nature a cold wolf, but an edge crept into his voice as he regarded ganondorf with unreadable sea-green eyes.

He sat on his haunches at the border, waiting for someone to reply. It was aggravating really, being at someone else's beck and call — with the threat that he might be attacked just like he had with Damien's crew.

But someone came. Ganon's ears perked up at the sound of footfalls coming near him, then his eyes focused on the man. He kept his body calm and his gaze level as he watched the stranger approach. Yes, Ganon said. I am looking for someone: my brother Vaati. I was told he lived on the coast.

ever since the thief had been thieved of her stone, she had followed ganondorf’s trail. bent in the shade like a hideous gollum, astara seethed — she had yet to find a chance to kill the man for his treason, and so, stalked him like a rabid shadow.

today he met some stranger at the edge of a pack’s borders. astara hung back, fervent gaze on both as she remained concealed. it would do no good to expose herself now, so instead she hid in the eaves of the deciduous forest, cursing ganondorf’s name.

rannveig kept his wits about him (which, btw, was all of one brain cell) as he approached the autumn-hued wolf, his tread light and muscles coiled. all he could think about was ford and the asshole that had deposed him; he was not about to put himself in the same position.

luckily, the male remained seated... and rannveig was totally oblivious to the vehement shadow in the corner (if he had detected astara, he would probably have lost his shit). the male revealed he was here looking for someone named vaati; not a name that rung a bell to rannveig. "there's no one here by that name." rannveig answered, rather clipped at that -- realizing his tone was short, he bedgrudgingly added: "... what does he look like?"

With his back to the lurking wraith, he also did not see her. But he was painfully aware — paranoid even — of the thought of her. While before her presence was benign, a quiet shadow trailing after him from home, she was now an avenging demon bent on destroying him. All for a stone.

But that was an unnecessary thought. He had to find his brother. He is tall, taller than me. When he was an adolescent that was a point of contention between them, but now Ganon could only accept what nature had given them both. They had the same but different blood — had Ganon known, he would have understood that the extra inches of height and muscle were brought from Vaati's father, Kjalarr. Ganon had met his father; a weak, small, scrawny thing He has silver fur, but his muzzle and stomach are sandy. He has pale blue eyes. That was a surprisingly short description of the man. He could be more poetic, but that would benefit none of them in the end.

the male that ganondorf described did not ring any bells for rannveig. their hold had grown smaller as of late, but no tall white male strode within it -- other than perhaps that stranger (kaertok), but he lacked the sandy legs.

rannveig shook his head silently. "sorry man, no guy here like that." he almost sounded apologetic, but he did not look away or back up.. even if they were small, this was his home and he was still on edge for it. "good luck." his words seemed to imply a finality that suggested get walkin'.

Ganon knew the answer before the wolf even spoke. There was no spark of recognition in his eyes at any point. He felt his heart sink as the male's words confirmed his suspicions. Vaati was not here. Alive or dead.

Thank you, Ganon dipped his head and turned tail, moving as quickly as he could away from the borders to avoid any undue violence.

astara watched the pair, dreading the idea of trespassing at dark if ganondorf was welcomed inside. as it stood, the grey male seemed guarded. astara could not hear his words, for they both were softspoken, yet she noted the cold way he stood as if barring entry. ganondorf turned his flame-licked back, speeding off in a different direction.

she spared one last glance at the tall man that guarded his crumbling realm, but then she too stole off hot on ganondorf's tail, murder tinged in her void-like gaze.
