The boy had waited a couple of days to let his new friend settle in-- and to see if Lennon meant what he had said. Unfortunately, he had. Alarian was left with no choice but to announce it to the pack when his lover did not retract his resignation from leadership. He knew he wasn't ready-- the whole pack probably knew he wasn't ready.
It was early in the morning when he rose, anxious after a night of little sleep, and left the safety of the cavern he had claimed as his den. He lingered around the large boulder for which the pack's territory was named, and after a few beats sent out a call for his packmates. The boy waited, nerves frayed, for everyone to gather before he made the announcement.

Korei Julia heard the call, and she immediately began heading in the direction of where bouts Alarian waited. And soon she arrived, and she knew him well enough to see that there was definitely something up. What was it that was up? She had no real idea of knowing.

The call went up, and Lily couldn't have been more relieved to hear it. Finally--finally--the Bracken wolves would come together to discuss the ills that plagued their little group. It was sorely needed, and though the process might be painful, she hoped they would heal well enough to move on, and grow stronger than before.
Mostly, she was just excited to see everyone again. With light, airy steps, she trotted out of the dens to where Alarian was sitting. Korei had been the first to arrive, and she gave her snowy-furred friend a gentle nudge and a smile before giving Ali, their leader, a more professional nod, though the grin still remained on her face.
She could tell that the boy was nervous; every hair on his pelt seemed, to her, prickling with electricity. "It'll be okay," she murmured to him, not really knowing what it or okay really meant in this scenario, only wanting to bring him comfort. If he relaxed, she would be content.

she had been more or less been straying farther and farther from home, but the moment her brother's call rose in the air she returned it with one of her own — i'll be right there.
she sort of knew what was coming but more important was the toll it would take on her brother and the pack as a whole. she sidled up to him and nestled into his fur before scaling down the rock, waiting for the rest of the pack to arrive.

Xahi had sprinted on those spider's legs of hers the moment Ali's voice rang out. It felt as though it had been centuries since she'd had time to speak with him at all, perhaps this would be her opportunity to do so. As she approached her family, the girl slowed to a soft trot, padding up with a warm greeting to her packmates. Through her excitement, Xahi had been slow in realizing that there was something up today. An undeniable tension hung heavy in the air, and unspoken words practically crackled like a buzzing electric force in the atmosphere. The shadow-masked woman tossed her viridian gaze towards Alarian, her demeanor switching swiftly to a persistent angst. What the hell was going on?

it would be a lie to say that lainie was being an especially good pack member; rather, she'd began to stray further from the borders and isolate herself further from the close-knit group. but when the call went up, she just happened to be in the area. after a moment of thought did she answer it, arriving late to the meeting and plopping down near the rear.
like xahi, her gaze shifted towards alarian, and she took notice of lily as she moved to comfort her uncle. she'd come to understand that somehow, these wolves were involved in an intricate relationship she had no part of. she'd accepted that, more or less, though some desire to be apart of them still kept her tethered here.
