He's a little surprised at the weight that lifts off his chest when he hears the girl is fine, though he struggles to recall her face. He wonders guiltily how they know each other — but he doesn't have to wonder for long. The grey woman identifies Korei as a friend of his, and it sounds right.

Pain shoots through his back half, centered on his left haunch, and he falls back gracelessly into a sitting position after no more than half a breath on his feet. He curses under his breath, embarrassed.
I might need um... more than a second. Sorry.He knows he can handle walking, but the pain of the initial weight on his limbs had caught him off-guard; fragile as he is right now, he needs a few moments to recover. At least for the journey home.
