Her eyes flick over the lavish dancers then return to the red girl, amused by her insistence but guarding an ever-formal calmness.  It was almost a challenge set; to pluck at a string this woman had bowed for her. Eset places the berries down.

The servant shepherds her guest from the party and through an adjoining passageway. Two left turns leads into a dimly lit chamber; noiseless now, save for the tap of their feet on stone. There is a narrow recess in the wall almost concealed entirely by shadow. The fellahin reaches a hand into it.
