Jade Fern Grove everybody waddles in the duck parade.

The stranger claimed not to care about her, and yet she wouldn't heed Eshe's request to leave. Frustration burned hot in her veins as she was questioned further. Eshe didn't want this woman to know her. She didn't want her to know what it was she sought. What good would it do? Breccan was gone. She'd left her family behind. All she wanted now was to leave everything else behind too.

So, with a flash of her teeth, Eshe stood and bolted off into the ferns. She was young, but she had always been quick. With any luck, it would be quick enough to leave the other female in her dust, and she could find a quiet place to grieve her misfortune in solitude.
