Emberwood and the ravens are leaving the tower

It seems almost too simple. Everything is oddly simple with this boy, actually. The realization strikes him hard, coasting on an unexpected wave of emotion. He blinks back the beginnings of tears for the second time since meeting Phillip, but this time he finds no anger to mask his mild embarrassment; he's too relieved for anger.
