How could someone who thought so highly of himself be so self-pitying? Like wow, didn't he realize he sounded like a loser? Probably not, he thought he was a god or something, he'd been over this... Hua though, was a whole different spitfire. On the one hand, damn. On the other, oh god please don't turn that on him ever, okay? Also um, had she mentioned the slave thing before? This wasn't exactly the place to ask and he also wasn't the most nosy of wolves anyway.

And some other dude had popped outta nowhere and was like.. coiling around the striped blowhard or something. Hell, Mal wasn't sure what he was actually trying to do -- it seemed pretty out of nowhere. What a weird dude. Hopefully he just followed Donovan back into whatever abyss they crawled out of with Hua's words hot on their heels. 

But still, they did leave, didn't they? About the time someone else joined the good guys' side. Mal had a remark to make about the ex-residents of the forest first. Um. Was it just me or was that the like.. most hollow nonapology ever with a side of how he was the victim or something? Should we actually believe he's gonna go? Because that didn't seem too based in reality... Maybe Mal was just an untrusting weirdo, but he wasn't big on giving unpredictable people a chance, and that guy definitely seemed unpredictable, if only because of his warped sense of facts. If most of the other packs represented here had a pretty united view of what had happened, Mal was much more keen to believe them. He looked between them all, pausing the most on Simmik to see how she was holding up.
