she had tried to move about the center of her home, singing softly to herself as she tried to keep her mind off of the pain her friend went though with a stillborn child and the fact at least one of her own unborn children though her body was a trampoline that needed to be kicked repeatedly. what an angry child and they had yet to be brought into this world, she wondered what had this little one so wound up.@Issun @Minori @orocho

WATERWORKS WARNING
as if on cue a sharp pain came amd a wetness began to trickle down her thighs, so that was what had them fussy tonight? A whine escaped her as another wave of pain came, how far was the den she created for this? It couldn't be too far.. could it?
a curse fell from her lips before she moved with more purpose, she would get to there in time, if not barely. more pressure came, pain followed as she crawled into the space she made for her and her children. labor had started right before she got herself in fully, blood leaked down her thighs and coated the entrance. oh this was not going to be a fun ride, pain clouded her vision as she pushed despite the urge to hold back. to not put herself though more pain as her own whines grew louder.
the first pup came and instinct took over, she broke the sack over her child and licked every inch of the tiny brown body. he was colored like her but he was marked similar to a fox but that was not why she stared and nudged her first born son, no, it was the fact that no breath came. no movement, no sign that he ever lived. A cry escaped her but was cut off with another jolt of pain, moving this little one aside she pushed for the hope this next child would be born alive.
the second came with a twin, both wrapped in the same sack to make them identical in every way. when she broke their sack and licked them clean, a sound of what could almost be called anger came. twin boys, tan on their backs and dark brown everywhere else. darker than her own brown and she assumed that was the dark coloring of Issun at play but something was wrong. when she moved them closer to her bosom, only one latched on. greedily. the smaller boy moved slowly, as if half asleep.
pain came again, making her focus on the last child to enter this world. this time it was a girl and once she was clean she looked very similar to her forbidden father, all but for the tan on her belly and toes but she too did not move. no sound came, no breathing to show life. another stillborn child, just like her firstborn brother. tears choked her as she moved this dark girl close to her fox marked brother, touching each one as she named them.
"Tenko.. Aimi.." a divine fox god in her families folklore and her tiny affection.. it was then that the movements of her largest and most vibrant child seemed to catch her attention, his twin moving slower than before. she touched each child as she named them, "@Orochi.. Ooyori.." her dragon and pheonix but the smaller twin had stopped moving, her little pheonix, his breathing was coming in quick gasps as she lifted him from his twin and placed him between her paws. she knew, somehow, the he was not going to make it.
slowly she moved her stillborn babies closer to her, trying to keep them warm as if they were alive. her body curled protectively over her only living child as she let out one of the most moarnful howls she had ever given, a sob choked it at the end as she placed her cheek and nose against her dying child. she listened as he wheezed out his final breath, her crying came harsher then..
"goodbye my little pheonix, Ooyori..."

once upon a time, in a land no mortal could cross into, there lived a dragon. atop its shoulders were four nameless heads. from the day this beast rose from nothingness, it watched over this realm. none could take its throne, because there was no one to do so. it was impossible to for anything to slip past its gate.
but in these lands the impossible was possible.
a mighty warrior entered the kingdom with a sword clutched in one hand. they called this warrior Time and it’s mission was to slay the ferocious beast. the two fought viciously and their battle lasted for eternity. but in the end Time won everything. the dragon was cut into four separate pieces and they were banished into existence, one by one.
the wounds they had sustained were deep. and it was clear that none of them would survive. but the mortal world had its own mythicals.
he was the second to enter, along with his brother. their sibling had already succumbed to the injuries. his brother’s consciousness was fading, but the boy fought. although he was cursed with a small body and eyes that only saw darkness, he fought for life. he was drawn to the fruit that sustained it and when he found it he latched on and didn’t let go.
the mighty beast may have fallen, but orochi utano thrived. he would always have the passion of a dragon.

oh he tried his best to dismiss it. to act like that evening on the river never happened. that the sight of his friend’s swollen stomach didn’t exist. but denial never erased your actions and that fact would slap him in the face today.
issun lay at the mouth of the den like he always did, marveling over the sight of his wife and son. that’s when the cry rang out. it was takara’s voice full of sorrow. the warrior looked to the sky, then to his family. he wanted to ignore it, but he couldn’t deny his terrified curiosity. issun looked at @Minori, told her to stay with deku, and left.
the farther he got from the den, the faster his pace became. and by the time takara came into view, his heart was like rolling thunder. issun hid behind a tree, a ways away from the den she resided him.
although he couldn’t see it, he could hear the loud mewling of a child mixed with the woman’s sobs.
this was it. this was his punishment for his infidelity. a child he couldn’t have. a child he didn’t want. a child that would never know its father. and there was no denying that.
issun ran away.

How could she have been expected to stay? It was her best friend's, possibly even secret love's, cries that shook her to her very core. It was so full of sorrowful, so full of heartbreak and it tore her open. She didn't understand why Issun wanted her to stay. He knew how much she cared for Takara right? That was what planted the first niggling suspicion in her brain, though not enough to formulate any sense of it yet.
Doing what a good friend should she tucked Deku underneath a fur pelt warmed by her body heat and insulated it with feathers. She intended to only check in on her friend, she wouldn't be gone long. Then she ran for Takara, her eyes moistening with fear at the sobs she caught coming from the den. She didn't hesitate to enter and flinched when she saw the three unborn children "Oh Takara..." she breathed her eyes spilling over with tears that splattered the ground. She slowly crept closer and then froze, finally spotting the wriggling little Orochi nursing at her belly. She blinked once with surprise, then shock came across her face and then her brow furrowed with denial. The boy looked so similar to Issun in some ways and yet...her love wouldn't have done that to her. She hadn't seen anyone else around these parts who looked speckled and similar to her mate. She shook her head and snuck a peek at Takara before turning away again and staring at the pup her body beginning to quake.
As she stood there quivering clearly trying not to have a breakdown the last thing hit her. Issun wasn't here but his scent surely was, he had come and gone but to where? Her brain shut down and she slowly backed away, her face devoid of any emotion whatsoever. She looked to Takara once more and her mouth opened but she slowly shut it and blinked back tears, shaking her head and running back to her son. She couldn't, no she wouldn't process this right now.

there was a sound. flattening of grass, the snap of twigs. it was obvious that he had come but he was nothing but a coward, someone that could not face what he had done. that day she had moved her heat filled mind to the outskirts of their home to avoid the one she wanted most but he had followed her and they had done the forbidden dance. she had avoided him after that, had made sure to make herself scarce no matter the pain it caused her and now.. he could not face what they had done. their sin was why she was left with a single dragon, no phoenix, no fox, no love. this was their fault, not just hers but he ran.
tears fell faster as she moved her nose against her no longer living children as another sound came, she could not tell who it was because the only thing she could smell was that that was around her. ah but her voice was all she needed.
oh takara
her voice started out sympathetic but it was easy to see the changes on her features, the realization when she looked at the dark daughter and the mixture of genes that the twins shared. tall ears fell flat against her head as she lifted it from her dead puppies, her tail curling over the vibrant child at her belly. as if she could hide him. her mouth opened to speak, to tell the woman she cared for, the truth of why they look so much like her husband. to tell her everything she wanted to know, to tell her how sorry she was, that she never wanted this to happen but it was too late. the dark woman started to back away, shaking her head as she filled her mind with denial. as she left words fell from the crying mother's lips.
"I'm sorry Min Min, I'm sorry..." it would seem she was sorry for a lot of things today.
