which to move first, body or babe? sobeille stared a long time at both before arriving at a decision.

she returned to bluepeace with both small children crammed in her mouth. carrying them was no easy feat and many times she dropped one or the other in her blind panic.

she raided @Astera’s den for the plush furs they’d hunted together first; arranging @Tusakruŋa and @Panik at the back of her own, sobeille stared at them both, lost to time while seconds spanned into minutes. upon leaving, the sinister gleam of boneflower caught her eye. watch dem, she muttered darkly to the cursed thing, leaving the cubs swaddled in thick pelts of sealskin. 

she called for @Lafayette and @Shadess both, breathlessly explaining. to @Lucette, sobeille asked her to remain guard over them.

then, she stole back to the tangle for the woman’s body.

dragging it back proved more difficult than the cubs had been. more than once she stopped to catch her breath and regain her ebbing strength.

she nearly sobbed in exhausted relief as the den finally rose into view. wedging the body at the den’s mouth, sobeille nosed both puppies towards the cold flank of their mother.

it chilled her to know this was a race against time to save them. there were no living mothers in sapphique. swiftcurrent and the moontribe were too far.

she stared at the small cubs in deep thought for what seemed hours.

suddenly, sobeille swung for the sound.  she could buy a small measure of time through great cleverness, and that’s exactly what sobeille intended to do.

Shadess and Sobeille, trying to get their shit together.

Life for the kill-sisters was an absolute shit show as best. They had lost too many for Shadess to even wrap her head around. Any moment she had to herself (which was very little) she would be screaming. Just to 'get it out' or something. There was little of the sea wolves and the clock was ticking. 

Shadess had taken the fur bundles that was @Noé and @Fabienne. Taking it upon herself to watch them closely even with their grandmother @Chacal still present, who surely was just as overwhelmed with anguish as much as they. 

Out of their siblings, they had already lost one to predators, a founding of @Lafayette. Another still missing, probably dead too. Shadess wondered how much longer @Veniel and @Séraphine might survive. At least... at least they had been somewhat weaned, allowing the elder siblings to force them into regulated meat a bit early. But these??

Shadess stared at the two new bundles and came suddenly to a defeated sit, back legs sticking out to either side of her as she did so. Fuck... What were they gonna do with this!? De Winsook mod'er's? Shadess might suggest and soon Sobeille again was on the move. Shadess would return to their four still surviving blood while Lucette held down the fort here.
