still unaware of whatever insult his father might have felt, huojin turned down the island's shore with the assumption that his parent might follow. he turned for one more look at the women, then decided to start a basic conversation.

you speak like us now? huojin asked, it's weird. he remembered his father speaking the common tongue and the other, more guttural language from his home; coming back to yuelong to find aiolos somewhat fluent was obviously a small shock.

@Aiolos :)
immediately after the other thread, if that's cool.

Aiolos broke off from Hua so that she may speak freely to their guest and possibly get her settled in to rest before her venture back home. He keeps pace at his son's side, though does not look at him. He looks out to the coast for at the moment he is both too sad and angry at the situation.

Only a little... He said, forcing a small smile. I understand far more then I can speak. He admitted. Maybe his tongue just couldn't curl in the same manner theirs could in order to capture the correct pronunciation needed.

there was something different about aiolos that made him seem like someone totally separate from earlier memories. huojin wondered if he’d simply conjured his own idea of who his father ought to have been, but even so, he thought that he liked this version better.

aiolos walked with a quiet confidence that huojin seemed to imitate, albeit without much success. 你要我怎么说话?, he asked, hoping that he might be able to use their language rather than common.

ακόμα θυμάμαι.. uhm.. some of this, huojin went on to explain. without anyone to practice with, his knowledge of olo’s tongue had quickly deteriorated. you can teach more to me? it could be something they bonded over, huo thought.

Speak as you'd like. He told his son, who as far as he remembered seemed to favor his mother's tongue. It was obvious he had learned to speak much more common too which would do well for him communicating on the mainland.

Aiolos had not expected that he had remembered much of Greek. In fact without the practice he was surprised he remembered any of it. εγώ μπορώ. He spoke then, another small smile, this one not forced. However.... But that would require you to stay with me.

He pauses his movements along the beachside, looking to the Sun and Sea eyes of his boy. You said you were visiting... Do you not plan to stay?

当然. huojin turned to aiolos, some degree of confusion evident in his expression. if not with his father, then where else would he stay? until that point, his slight miscommunication still hadn’t been made clear.

thankfully, aiolos addressed it directly — do you not plan to stay? — offering huojin some clarity. what? he asked, i said i am visiting huāzhen, but i am staying after this, too. it was time that he gain some independence from his mother, and she seemed understanding enough.

a short silence allowed him a moment to realize where this tension stemmed from. oh, i am staying with you. means if you leave here, i leave with you, but not without. his plan certainly wasn’t to come spend more time with his aunt; surely, she had enough to take care of on her own.

There was an obvious confusion in his child's expression, as though he had every intention of staying here all along and he had. Such a thing leaved a breath of relief in Aiolos, literally, who shook his head and chuckled slightly. He did want to stay here after all. The idea that his son had only come here to inform Yuelong of recent standings with the mission had left Aiolos feeling rather dour but now to know that his time wouldn’t be cut off short with his son brought a happiness to him evident by the waving of his tail.

Είμαι πολύ χαρούμενος για αυτό. He spoke in Greek, so that to force his son into practicing now, as he had mentioned it. If he could understand but not speak it back, that was a start. Μου έλειψες. He started up again, moving at a casual pace along the shoreline. And what of your mother? Had she let you travel all the way back on your own? Maybe she hadn’t. Maybe she had followed with him up until the Moonspear mountains could be seen clearly before heading back. Maybe she had sent someone she trusted with him to due the same. Aiolos could not just expected that she had let him wonder so far on his own. Especially here, with how dangerous these Wilds were.

huojin thought then responded: missed you, too. there was some truth to this; though he seldom thought of is father during their separation, he knew now that his heart had indeed been missing something in his absence.

then came conversation of his mother. she is home with yingyue. i came alone. it didn't seem like an issue in his inherently independent mind, but then again, huo was still young and without children of his own to have a father's perspective.

she is good, he assured aiolos with a nod, very healthy. she works as a, uh.. an important person, for which he did not know the word.

In many ways it would seem like Huo fit into an exact middle of both Aiolos and Ruo's persona. He was quieter, observant, independent probably more then needed and kept to himself in that. Though he did speak more so, was open to speak his feelings and thoughts and more readily willing to meet others. Hearing his son had missed him made Olo happy of course despite the fact that he didnt come running and jumping at him when they had met. Aiolos would wonder though even if his child would miss him, how much longer would he have until he was no longer needed by the boy.

Hearing that Ruo was with Ying made his brow quirk upward, head tilting slightly. He had thought she went onto a mission to their parent's pack but now she stayed with Ying's ranks? It seemed she wasnt at all ready to return to Yuelong, to him, just yet.

Knowing she was 'important' in Ying's ranks left him with mixed emotion. In Yuelong she had not been made as such, now she was. Surely happier where she was at and free to her space and solitude without a man and child in tow...

She shouldn't have done that. Aiolos then says, probably something he should have only spoken to Ruo directly. He didnt exactly want to try and turn his son against her. Leaving you to travel all alone so far, not even with an escort. Anything could have happened to you. Even adults got so lost, attacked, abducted, killed- but a kid?? It was obvious in his hardened gaze he was angered by her actions (or lack there of).
