sanguinus had lurked along the borders long enough, and the girl, resentful and full of unbridled sorrow-wrath, slowly rose from her position. the bone clattered off of her narrow limbs, its pieces splintered and destroyed.

she moved towards him, muzzle low and posture predatory.

and her walk turned into a trot, and that loose, swinging trot turned into a powerful gallop -- and then black wretch of blackfeather, freshly de-mothered, threw herself upon sanguinus with all of the murderous intent of a harpy -- blind, furious, and wailing the high keen of the newly aggrieved.
