She was contented with the woman's reply, as Niamh took much more kindly to agreement than she did to argument though some might note Niamh did love to argue. On this topic, however, and haveing lived and hunted in the area for over a year now, Niamh felt she knew best. Fortunately, her oaken companion seemed to know at least a bit about cervinae, which she would have expected from someone Odessa's age regardless.
She might have begun a conversation with the pleasant female had it not been for the approach of another- though Niamh immediately felt that given the faint interest the older female showed in the panther-like one who arrived shortly thereafter, that she knew each other. Had they been strangers, she might've turned her gaze upon the newcomer to size her up, but they both seemed more keen to get information from Niamh. They both clearly revered the elk- the older one so much so that she went on to praise the creature, noting the strength and grace of the bull elk in particular. The bull in question either seemed to tire of its audience, or felt some pressure of a threat from them, and wandered beyond the ridge.
"They cater to my pack," She drawled, a calm but sincere warning to the two who had the hunger of desire in their eyes. As a food-aggressive creature, Niamh hardly shared meals quietly even with her own packmates- and therefore had even less tolerance for these new strangers who seemed to express an interest in prey that the Firebirds would normally claim, at least in this area. She flicked her tail and lifted her muzzle, gesturing toward the ridge where the elk had grazed. "These forests are our perhiperal hunting grounds, from here, east to the river and where it flows north past our borders." She said, addressing the vast area where they normally hunter larger prey. "That elk must be a stray. The majority of the elk I've seen, gathering in herds numbering in the hundreds- live across the river to the East and beyond that ridge of mountains," She said.
