There was something about this forest that Asivaq hadn't felt when she'd arrived at the glacier, but she couldn't put it into words; it felt too good to be true. There was abundant prey, they were protected from the elements, and, most importantly, the territory was unclaimed from what she could smell.

She looked at Kigipigak as he suggested they should settle and quickly interjected. Yes—this seems like it could be our perfect napatuqvik, she said as he disappeared. While he explored elsewhere, she kept to the trail and investigated the area with bated breath; had their search for a new home really been that easy?

When he emerged down the path, she watched as he returned to her and felt joy in her soul as she heard his laugh. Yes, she answered, reaching up to kiss him with a laugh, This is what I want.

Curious, she asked in the next breath, Did you see anywhere that'd make a good place for the ulaq? Finding a spot to nest was her biggest priority.
