Larksong Grotto who knows what tomorrow might hold

Laurel's tail whirred excitedly at her father's acknowledgement of her special position here as princess of the grotto. She pushed her face against her father's chest and then looked at Jhala, who said that she wasn't fat and that she was a mercenary and therefore was 'muscly'. Laurel giggled when Reek said that Jhala -- or anyone -- was fat, and said haughtily: "Yeah, don't say so many bad things about yourself." There was a smirk on her face as she looked at Reek when he said the grotto was a safe place to stay at.

Laurel made a face when Jhala was introduced as her stepmother. She was quick to say: "She's not my mom." She didn't even remember what her mom was like, but she knew that Jhala wasn't it. Then she looked at Reek and asked, "Reek, when are we gonna do something cool?" She'd been here a few days and was so bored so far — she hoped that her father'd take her to do something fun soon!
