Her encounter with the bear-like man behind her, Keres had angled toward the southwest side of the Hinterlands, carefully skirting the woods that served as a barrier to the strath. She had no intention of going any closer, either; despite her obstinance towards Holland in these decisions, the silvered valkyrie was not going to push her luck to the breaking point. Besides, she did not think the Saints were stupid enough to do anything to a wolf they knew followed the Queen of the Wilderness. Then again, she should not have been stupid enough to take such a risk; it was very possible that they didn't care, after all.

Huffing, Keres decided that, as she scaled the mountain that jutted above the woods and into the clouds, she would return after this. She had been gone almost a week now and it would take her just under that to return home. Idly, the woman wondered if she should even stop by to see the medic, or if he would simply excuse himself from her presence again. Irritation and pain (why?) rising, the woman cast those thoughts to the side for the moment in favor of focusing on her footing, though she paused upon sighting another.

Evergreen eyes watched the wolf carefully, frozen midstep as she calculated the ways she might escape if this turned south so quickly.
