Mature Content Warning

This thread has been marked as mature. By reading and/or participating in this thread, you acknowledge that you are of age or have permission from your parents to do so.

The participants have indicated the following reason(s) for this warning: Here there be dragons and babies

JUST AS A NOTE: LD will not be sticking around after the act, this is a one and done! She’ll go back to the gang after this!

Once, she had come across a raving fiend in the desert. It was from this raving fiend that she learned of the seasons and how they screamed into your body like fires through forests.

It was in this that she knew what her dreams yelled to her.

small lives small lives small lives small lives

The dreams demanded blood, the gods in the small places demanded a vessel. She was remiss to ignore what needed to be done.

Away slipped the rattlesnake in the early morn, that first day, leaving behind only a trace of wreathing heat scent where she had once been, and she climbed into the mountains. There, she would lurk, back pressed to a stone, her eyes constantly scanning her surroundings.

Just until she stopped smelling like this. Just until then.

after the cat came chakliux.
and his head was turned by the compelling fragrance upon the wind. he stalked after the woman like a hunter, but found no wolf.
chakliux had not yet seen a coyote.
she was small. wounded. scarred. and burning with a fire that scorched him and brought him willingly closer, albeit with careful steps.
"what are you?" he asked, brightberry eyes eyeing the tail, the lacerations, and finally the flare of her gaze.

The creature who finally approached her was tall, sinewy. Draped in white.

The rattlesnake did not care for his height, his muscles, his anything.

This was for the small gods.

Her ultraviolet eyes watched as he came close, and she let out a smoky chuckle in response to the question.

Same thing you are. Little smaller. She drawled, kicking out her back legs in a relaxed posture.

chakliux grunted a man's sound but his eyes roved over her in curiosity. like him, she had said. and he saw many similarities.
but also this one bore the look of brother fox.
how odd!
admittedly the seal-hunter's mind did not linger long on their differences; he shifted in front of her. chakliux knew this bouquet in the air. "do you wait here for a man of your kind?"

She would catch her tongue between her teeth, a rattlesnake grin fit to send the weakest men running on sight.

Ain’t a whole lot of men like me running around. I’m something of a between state. She said, still sprawled and relaxed on the snow.

This man was intriguing. Consider her interest peaked.

her smile was unlovely. but she was not, and more than that she singed him with each word.
the seal-hunter came closer.
his eyes moved at last over her lithe figure in the snow. "how were you wounded?" the man asked, even as his body urged him to walk even nearer to this fascinating little woman.

Way up in the mountains.

The heat she could feel in her loins stoked hotter and hotter the longer they just spent talking, but well.

She wasn’t giving up the ghost just yet.

Snow came rushing down like a raging bull. Almost got buried by it, did get hit by it. It was muddled, what happened there. She didn’t like revisiting it.

chakliux listened, his last resignation dissolving away.
he imagined snow cascading from mountaintops onto her feverish body. she could melt it, he thought madly, and this time he did creep closer, scarred muzzle dipping for her hackles.
his body was tense with confusion and want, a hunter's wariness beneath it all.

He drew close, as if a fly coming to the sweet, sick scent of a pitcher plant. She would receive him with a brow raise, a final chance to run away.

The surface of a pitcher plant was slick, the inside slicker. A fly who fell in, they would not come out.

A final warning for the Icarus seeking too close to the sun. For the fly coming close to the pitcher. She bunched her muscles in preparation to stand.

chakliux accepted the melting of his wings.
he stood close, almost breathless, as the wolf-fox-woman stood, and reached for her again once she had, an exploring touch that was near reverent.
little else mattered in that moment.

The rattlesnake coiled into the touch, accepting it with every breath she took while his attention was still on her.

She knew this would quite possibly be the last they met. She knew this was just for something she needed, her vessel, but she did not speak that aloud.

She knew though.

The only thing to come of this would be cubs to fulfill the request of the small gods. Nothing more, nothing less.

to say he was ensnared would be an understatement.
chakliux did not know her reasons. he knew only want, and so acted with want.
time no longer existed.
the recipient of his energetic body would see the end of him in a heap, panting, grinning, and then sleep, surprised, sweetened sleep, all of him slouched in languid pleasure.

He was fast to sleep once everything was over, and she smoothed out her fur like a debonair actress, finally leaving the role.

She couldn’t say she had been fond of the act either. Never again, she told herself, not happening. She just felt crabby. So, she turned and began strolling away, whistling a merry tune.

Only time would tell if what they had done bore the fruit she required.
