arrival back home! single posts welcome <3

their trip home was contemplative, chakliux and @Marina. everything her brother had said, the plants he had listed, the stony powders and mountainous ferns — all conspiring to create sickness in her body.
when they came to the place of the lodges, chakliux did not yet go up the path. he stood there and gazed at the lived-in lodges, at the worn path, at the gentle grasses, the wavering flowers.
he adored moontide, and yet the plateau seemed to be rejecting his wife.
a long sigh rushed out of chakliux, then he smiled and called out, called for @Tullik, @Sirmiq and @Chagak and @Kilalurak and @Puffin, for @Taggak and @Raiyuk, and a second to tell @Heph and @Rodyn he had come back.
he wrestled the children as they came, hooting at their elation as he and marina went up the path to the lodge.

i wasn't tagged so i hope u don't mind me plopping a lil post in here!

while chakliux had been gone, red leaf healed. she was able to feed @Ghelan red meat now, allowing him to taste the joys of fish, of crab, of bison, of deer. i'm expanding your palette, she'd whispered to him between kisses and snuffles to his rotund cheeks. her sharp edges curved with new weight, and the luster returned to her pelt day by day.
life was good, here in moontide. there was peace, and stability, and yet;
and yet cen was still not here.
the worry consumed her when she was not distracted by her boy and by tullik, the kind sea-mother. she kept herself busy with her amulets, swiping supplies here and there in order to build them. they sat in a corner of her new lodge, meant for no one in particular.
but as chakliux returned and spoke with his comrades, she shyly snuck her way out of the lodge and left a shimmering teal seastone laced with a lock of her fur at the mouth of his own. its presence there spoke what she could not; thank you.

Chagak had missed his mother terribly. He loved Tullik just as dearly, but there was a kinship shared between he and Marina that could not elsewhere be found. He sought her out with a wail of joy that turned to a confused sob as soon as he was within her arms.

She seemed better, and a relief he didn't understand swept through him to know that she was safe and whole and at home once more. His love for her overwhelmed him for a long moment, young eyes blurring with embarrassing tears. It was some time before he calmed enough to greet Chakliux as well — and the return of his father was almost enough to send him straight back into childish hysterics.

He was happy, though. Happier than he had been for some time.

At last the call came, and Sea Hunter was scrambling to his feet with urgency. He darted out into the open to look for his father and for Marina, eyes now splintered with wisteria shades brightening as he spotted them venture closer to the lodge.

His tail whipped the air as he moved to close to distance between them with Chagak, excitement bursting from him in happy yips as he collided with his the limbs of Chakliux. He'd been missed fiercely, and Sea Hunter was hopeful that he would not take himself away again quite do soon.
