All Welcome
Amalia moved throughout the pack lands
Her body sore and sated in the best ways. Her mind on what the future may hold. Was she excited absodutitely, was she scared? Terrified. But it was a good fear. One that made her know she was normal and doing this right. She could've know if she was there yet.

She shifted near the center of the territory. Her body cycle still clung to her. Towards the end of it. But it was there none the less.

stealing this :D

He felt more protective of her than ever, given her heat and the presence of strangers at their border. He was never too far, but now he drew extra close to her, giving her a chuff before placing his chin along her shoulders, letting out a breath in a sigh.

Hey, love, Killdeer murmured, smiling. How are you feeling?

He hoped that they had created new life. Their life. The newest Redhawks in a long line of wolves.

Fine with me

Amalia knew that Killer was a bit over the top with his protective thoughts at the moment. And she was okay with this. However, she also knew she could take care of herself if she must. So she was doubly covered right.

A soft little shift in her stance as she heard his voice. A tilt of her head towards him to greet with soft lick to muzzle and cheek.

Heya!

A little laugh in the back of her throat. I feel pretty good. Tired of course, but I feel that is probably a good thing.

She wouldn't know more for another week or so. This was entirely true. But she wondered if at her age, her symptoms would be ten fold. She had heard of it happening.

He cuddled up to her, breathing in her scent. Had it changed? Obviously, her heat-scent was there—but he hoped that there was something underneath, something more. . .

He hadn't been around Sialuk or Moonshadow to tell. This would be his first full rodeo.

Rest, Killdeer murmured, smiling. He chuckled slightly. Come lie down with me in the rendezvous. We'll lounge the whole day away.

Nothing sounded better than that.

Amalia had not seen a change in herself as of yet. Which frankly was frustrating. She was for lack of any other word impatient. If she was expecting she wanted to know right this second.

Amalia chuckled. Shouldn't we at least do one lap around thr borders.

She pressed to his side. Flicking her tail in laughter.

Ehhh, why, though? Killdeer replied in mock laziness, giving her a gentle nudge shoulder-to-shoulder. No, I suppose you're right. And I think I heard somewhere that walking is good for babies.

His eyes rested on hers in joy and anticipation, although he tried to temper the latter, remembering their past conversations about the subject. He knew things could and did go wrong, and didn't want to tempt fate—

But boy, was he ever excited.

He set off at an easy, ambling pace so that the two could meander while still remaining close. It's so nice to be back here, Killer remarked, smiling. I've loved every place I've lived—but this is home. It always was; it always will be.

Though it still smarted to have left Treepie and Tikaani back at Moonspear, he knew he'd made the right choice.

Amalia laughed. Because I still have energy and some day I may not. So I better enjoy it while I can. Right. She teased quietly. Tail swinging in delight.

She laughed then. Between you and your grandma I am going to be well taken care of. You'll take me for walks and she will help me clean up after puke fests and force feed me I imagine if she has too, fish.

Amalia smiled and nodded as they walked. Scraping paws along the border lines. I love it here. When I first came. I thought it was simply beautiful. The real bees knees and that has not changed.

He nodded, understanding. He had never seen Sialuk pregnant with his own children, but of course he'd seen others in that condition. Still, the novelty of knowing his own brood perhaps grew within Amalia captivated him every time he saw her.

Hmm, fish, Killdeer remarked, smirking. I can't imagine that'd be good on a sick stomach. But then again, I've always preferred land meat.

She expressed her own love of the place, and that, in turn, made him love her all the more. It truly is 'the bees' knees,' he replied with a chuckle. His brow furrowed in contemplation, and he turned to her and asked, Wait, you've said that before. Do bees have knees? I don't think I've ever gotten close enough to one to tell.

Maybe Amalia was an expert on bees—just another delightful thing to learn about his mate.

Amalia had actually never seen very many pregnant wolves if any. Goodness if she had it had been some time ago. OF course many had been pregnant her first time in the Caldera, but she had stayed away from them, perhaps out of some worry she may hurt them. She couldn't quite remember their sight. Except perhaps they were bigger than they had been. And walked clumsily.

I can't either, but your grandma said it is good for pregnancy. So I will trust her thoughts on this. She has promised to help me. She may regret that promise. I already have a million questions.

She nodded. Well something of the sort. IF you look at their legs and they join together in little segments so they can bend those little insect legs. But in this case. She laughed quietly. The bees knees just means something is fantastic. My mother used to say it all the time.

Truth be told, he wondered if the million questions could annoy Towhee—but then again, he trusted her to take it in stride, especially since Amalia was carrying her great-grandchildren. She'd been amazing so far, so he had no reason to doubt her going forward.

Gosh, you're smart, Killdeer remarked, marveling at this insect knowledge she'd never revealed. Again, he'd never looked close enough to really know. He laughed along with her. It's way cuter than any of my family's sayings—most of which involve some variation of ass or shit.

He might be the least profane Redhawk out there, which was saying something. He hoped his kids took after Amalia more in that respect.

Speaking of words and Redhawks— Have you thought about what you wanna call 'em? he asked, tilting his head. Any names that speak to you?

Amalia hadn't annoyed Towhee yet, at least she didn't think so. Therefore, she felt as if she were okay to continue to ask questions. Though truthfully she hadn't been able to get much out yet.

Amalia laughed. I don't know if smart is the right word. IT was mostly found knowledge when I would whittle the day away playing and sunning in meadows. She often wondered if she could be a serious mom. Like she didn't know if she could do the discipline thing. She wasn't firm in any of her actions. And she enjoyed a good time herself. She frowned for a brief minute. Great new fear unlocked

She shook her head. I know that your family seems to name them after nature. I thought we'd continue. I'm fine with that. My family just picked names they thought were pretty.

wrap this up? sorry i'm slow ackkk

He never really understood the meaning of his own name. Supposedly, it was for a bird—but the bird in question was small and fleeting, and not at all equipped to take down a deer. Maybe, his family's traditions could be tweaked.

Well, your name is beautiful, Killdeer remarked, smiling. So please chime in with your suggestions. I honestly really haven't thought much about what I'd call my children.

He gave her a gentle nudge, shoulder-to-shoulder, and then forged ahead, though making sure she wasn't far behind at any juncture. They'd hit the borders, do their job in securing them, and then head back to the rendezvous for snuggles and snacks. Nothing finer.
